We speak to Paul Fitzpatrick, author of Charlie: The Story of Charlie Gallagher, the GAA's Lost Icon.
Charlie Gallagher played for Cavan from 1955-1969, winning four Ulster titles, four Railway Cups and finishing as the top scorer in the country three times in the 1960s. He was the George Best of the GAA; bursting with charisma, renowned for his incredible talent and adored by everyone. Yet, like George, he had his own battles off the field and died in the 1989, aged 51.
Paul's new book tells the story of a remarkable man who left a lasting impact on everyone who encountered him.
