Trump's nominee for chair of the Federal Reserve Kevin Warsh passed a key vote from the Senate Banking Committee to send his nomination to the full senate, despite pushback from prominent Democrats on the panel.
Massachusetts Democrat Senator Elizabeth Warren slammed the nomination as political, saying “Trump has not been subtle about his takeover," in remarks to the committee.
The key vote came after Senator Thom Tillis removed his block of Warsh's nomination over the DOJ investigation into Fed Chair Jerome Powell and the Federal Reserve, as the department handed it over to a watchdog.
