Submission 13 to Tasmania's Parliamentary Inquiry tells the story of a woman who sought protection from her partner, a serving police officer, only to find herself the subject of a family violence order.

That order was later revoked, and according to her submission, an internal police review found there had been no legal basis for issuing it.

In this episode of Badge of Betrayal, we examine her allegations of investigative failures, delays and potential conflicts of interest, raising serious questions about what happens when police investigate their own.

Plus, Senator Jacqui Lambie calls for a full commission of inquiry into Tasmania Police.

The allegations and experiences discussed in this episode are drawn from Submission 13 to the Tasmanian Parliamentary Inquiry. They represent the account of the person making the submission and should not be taken as established findings of fact.

The allegations of criminal conduct have not been proven in a court of law, and no finding of criminal guilt should be inferred from the submission or this episode.

All individuals referred to are entitled to the presumption of innocence. Our purpose is to examine the matters raised in the submission and the broader questions they present about police processes, accountability and independent oversight.

A senior cop. Decades of rumours. A trail of victim-survivors, buried complaints, and a police culture that looked the other way. Badge of Betrayal blows open the true story of Senior Sergeant Paul Reynolds, the high-ranking Tasmanian officer who rose through the force while dark allegations swirled behind him.

From the producers who brought you Our Little Edey, this series follows the threads others left untouched. As the walls close in, new leads emerge, connections surface, and the line between institutional failure and deliberate protection becomes disturbingly blurred.
