Hey, everyone, welcome back to Batch your Happy Hour.

I'm Joe and I'm Strina.

And we are here with the comedian Ji the comedian.

You are the the comedian Capital T capital H capital E.

Jared Fleet is here. Welcome to the podcast.

Thank you both so much for Oh, thank you both so much for having me. It's always a pleasure to speak to you, guys. I I could tell Joe got down the road of a sentence and then found no way out.

I've had that happen is all here right I'm here with the What the hell am I saying? The comedian? I guess That's where I'm at right now. I love it. It's so good to see you both. What's going on?

I just I that actually happens to me a lot, probably.

Because I'm that happens to you in daily life where you start a sentence and I can tell you just have no idea where it's gonna go. It's a mystery to both of us.

Where is this going?

But I always I would think, is a comedian that that has to be a fair when you're on stage of like I'm going to start this and then kind of go blank and not know where the fuck I'm going with.

It, dude.

It's the worst thing in the world. It happens all the time. And it's not like you don't know where the sentence is going. You're like, why am I in this joke right now? This isn't what I wanted.

To do at all?

How am I going to get from this subject to the one I actually want to talk to talk about? And usually when I'm on stage, when I'm present, that's when you it's hard. It's you want to believe you're the best version of yourself all the time. But like, sometimes I'll be on stage and I'm thinking of the next joke while doing the words of the joke that I'm currently in, and I'm like, you know, and You're like, well, how am I going to get over to you know, my parents from this this joke when I'm talking about like, you're just trying to find these bridges?

So I I yeah, it's the worst.

Yeah, what were you doing in Toronto recently?

I did shows?

I was just so, you're from Toronto, right, Serena?

I am, And my sister follows you. I was talking to her today and I was like, oh, Jared Freeze coming on the podcast and she's like, oh, he was just in Toronto and he went to Porchetta and she's like, he got he posted she said, you post something about getting two sandwiches because you want to try both.

But Black Camel. I went to Black Camel, which is a sandwich place. I I but I can understand Porchetta sounds like another sandwich pork place, right, Yeah, it is so this place, this place, Black Camel, is awesome and it's like this little tiny sandwich place.

You know, you got to go ide it. It's so good.

It was near the hotel and it was like on a list, you know, when I go to a city.

So I did shows in Toronto.

I'm going weirdly enough, I'm going from Toronto to Chicago. I'm going from your hometown to Joe's hometown.

When I go on the road, I.

Like to like check out a cool restaurant and it doesn't have to be like the thing they do in that town. Like I don't need to go to Chicago and get a deep dish, Like I think that's like, it's not like what I'm looking to do. I want to go to like a place that people are like, this is somewhere I go on my every day.

I love it, I enjoy it.

So I went to two places in Toronto has probably one of the best food scenes in the world.

Like there's no the width of.

It, the the creativity of it.

I'm like a super.

I mean, that's a that's a stretcher.

That's not a stretch.

It's because I love and I think they have great food. But I'm one of the best in the world. I would say, I don't know.

Well, I wanted to where you wait in Toronto.

Okay, So I went to I did the dan Forth Theater, I did Black Camel, and then I went to Menita, which was in like what felt like Toronto's Brooklyn. I saw shoes strung up on wires and I was like, okay. And I saw everyone was dressed, you know, homeless chic, and I was like, this must be there Toronto or there Brooklyn. Menita Cafe was unbelievable. I was a huge fan. So those are my two recommendations. Go to Black Camel, go to Medina Cafe. Anita had like a forty five minute wait.

Wow, said these places you gotta go, you gotta go.

I I had the I had the soaper soda sandwich, something I would never get. And listen, I know that's offensive to Joe. He's like, that's an Italian sandwich. I'm not gonna go to Toronto. I have it time as.

Italian as you get. Right, it was the Italian sandwich.

I'd say, one of the top sandwiches I've ever had. It's on my Instagram right now.

I put it. No, it's on my TikTok. I put up like the videos and.

Your sister saw Tell your sister thank you for watching me from Afar and not getting a ticket to my show.

Always a pleasure to.

She's a casual fan.

She's gonna decide maybe next time she'll come to the show. But the shows, I mean the audiences in Toronto and Chicago. I mean, I'm getting the run of my life Boston, Toronto and Chicago.

By the time this comes out, I'm gonna be in.

Royal Oak, Michigan, and I'm also going to be in Minneapolis, and I'm gonna be and I'm doing a whole show about my family. So and I know you guys are close with your families, and I know you know bringing your families together was like this, you know, different thing and hard and I think, like, you know, the whole the whole show is an hour story about going to the going to the beach with my parents and kind of body issues and eating and how we eat and what we talk about, and you know, the people that you love the most, but you fight with the most as well. So it's been like kind of a true pleasure to do these shows on the road and like see people connect in like a really cool way. And so I'm happy to be This is all to say, I haven't shut the fuck up.

This is all to say I'm happy to be here. Love Toronto.

Okay, let's get into the episode real quick. I just want to ask you just another comedian question, just when are you going to start? Like, so, your your special came out on Netflix does really well. Now you're touring, when when do you start new material? Like when you start working on like how long? What's that process? How long?

So I think a good special takes two years to like figure out in my opinion, I tape my special thirty seven single on Netflix right now. You can watch it anytime on December tenth, twenty twenty two. Now that's like the fun of being a comedian and also the scariest part.

You go from December tenth, twenty twenty two.

You spew out all the jokes that have worked, all the crutches all you know, when you're on stage and you're bombing, you can go to that joke you have from five years ago. On December tenth, twenty twenty two, you now have zero minutes of material, and that's like fun. It was freeing for me because I was doing jokes in the special about when I was twenty seven, when I was thirty, when I was thirty one.

I taped it at thirty seven.

Now I'm at zero, and I can talk about anything I want. And it becomes like who who do you want to be? What type of comedian do you want to be? Like I really do believe that, and I you know, I still did material from the special because it wasn't out, you know, December eleventh, twenty twenty two. I have time until it comes out, and at that point I didn't it was maybe gonna go on YouTube. Netflix didn't come around until July, so it came out in August, I would say August fifteenth.

That's when it came out.

That next weekend, I had a whole new hour to tour with it kind of pushed me off the ledge so and it forces you to write it for if you care. Some people do a special, they don't care. They don't want to be a stand up comedian. They kind of want to just do the special and then do that material forever and maybe do crowd work. That's not what I love. I love doing telling stories, doing jokes. And December eleventh, I started working on this story about going into the beach with my parents, and it went from and when I really got to work on it, I went to Europe in May. I did shows in Dublin, Belfast, London, Copenhagen, Oslo, Berlin, Amsterdam.

I did all those. I did a European tour.

And when you do stand up in Europe, you know, stand up is an American art form. It was invented here. It's one of the few things that is purely American. So you go there and they do like a different version of it. It's a little different. It's a little slower, it's a little story length, like you're not gonna get a you know America. You get jokes every ten seconds because the audience would literally.

Murder you if hey not laughing right, this is an America.

Yous said us, said so I, but in Europe they kind of give you the opportunity to tell a longer story. So I went there with a twenty minute story about my parents and going to the beach with my parents. By the end of the three weeks, I was like, I'm at forty minutes. I think this could be a full hour. So it came quickly. But then now I'm in this phase of like refining it. I'm going to do the VIC in Chicago Big Theater. I'm doing two shows. I'm gonna sing, dance and dust. I'm gonna bring it. But like there's parts of the story that I'm like still tinkering with. But I think it's ready now because I'm sitting here, you know, February twenty ninth of twenty twenty four, and you know, I'm ready to like tape this.

I'm ready to have like a do date.

So if you're a real stand up comedian, the minute that special goes out is the minute you have zero.

And it's scary, but it's it's also been a blast.

Like my parents came to the show and saw the story, like they I go to the comedy seller, and I was doing all these jokes about my mom and dad, and then my parents came to a show and the staff there, who I'm friends with, they're like, have they heard this yet? And I'm like, yah no, but the stories are all true. They're all they they we argue about these stories this day. Yeah, they lived in I'm not telling any lies. I'm not speaking out of out of turn. So and then my mom is in the crowd just screaming, laughing because she's like, I can't believe you're talking about this still, Like you know, to her, the story was five years ago.

So it takes a long time.

It takes a lot of work, but it's also like slow, like stand up.

You know.

I have jokes that I've been I have a story right now that I've been working on for six years, and I'm like still, like what the fuck? It just eludes me. You know, it's and it's a I don't know.

If you want my advice, you should probably let that one go.

I mean, okay, I like Joe.

I like Joe's perspective. Just give up.

Yeah, I know, you're right.

Let's get into uh, let's get into this week's episode. So we go to home, I feel like I was. I feel like I was here with you last Hometowns. Wow, why do I have this?

I don't remember.

I don't remember, but I know it was one of our our more listened to episodes.

Well, I will thank you. I'm happy that's the case.

I will say it's my favorite episode every season.

I don't know how.

Yeah, I don't like hometowns.

Why.

A few reasons I've said, Like on our so I sent myself home after hometown So I think, Okay, I think there might be a little bit of like personal trauma there that you know, impacts my feelings about the week. But I do think for the process it's crucial, Like it's absolutely crucial. They have to have homedows. I would never suggest that they get rid of the hometown's episode, but I just find I'm watching the same thing four times a lot of the time.

Did you feel that this was the same thing four times this week?

Yeah?

I did. But you love hometowns, so what.

Do you make see?

I love it. Here's why I love it. I love that these people who didn't sign up to go on TV get to go on TV. Like I I just think it's like it's for me for my purpose, you guys know, I like yelling at the show and like finding the little things, like seeing what the parents.

Look like, who comes on, what they the questions they ask.

The dads who are like such simps for their daughters, like they'll do anything, like you could tell like I don't have a daughter myself, I have a young I have a brother like I Just to see the relationship between dad and daughter, like to me is so interesting, just how they will literally do they will melt for their kid, like you.

Can see it in all these dads.

I just like, I totally just enjoy the awkwardness of going to someone's home and getting to be a fly on the wall because my parents are crazy like I. I So they could do this eight times, they could go to eight families and I would still be interested, at at a minimum, just to see what the parents look like and who comes, Like so much is said up who comes to these things?

Like I just think it's so funny.

It's like because the people go on the show, you guys like, yeah, these are people who were encouraged in one way or another to like be seen on screen, Like you guys, whether you wanted to or not you you know, you were like TV ready, Like my parents aren't TV ready.

I'm not TV ready. I'm like, you see some of these people like look at Maria, Maria's dad.

Like put a call in his hair, somebody please, Like he was he was great though, that fantastic.

That is so true because when it's the guys, when it's the bachelorette and it's the guys, you never even hear from the dads, Like the dads ever have nothing to say. But when it's the girls, the dads are just like this person means everything to me, Like I will murder.

I will literally jump off a cliff to save them and kill myself. Like yeah, they are such I don't know. I just loved it. I I who stayed.

Out to you?

What?

What? What's Yeah?

Who was a surprise? Like who were you?

Like?

Oh, like this is an interesting pairing, this family with this girl.

Do we want to go family by family? I took a few nights.

Yeah, I know.

You guys go off the cuff and you know, no preparation, right tonal professionals.

I'm waiting those ten cities. I'm waiting on those ten food cities. Joe, your homeworkers do.

Okay, so I kelsey A. My first thought was, what a babe. She's in that white pantsuit thing with the New Orleans background.

It literally looked like a painting of New Orleans.

And I'm saying, this is hopefully the most respectful way possible. She's got the big hair, she's Julia Roberts and.

Yeah, you said that. I saw that on an instrum of PbCO. You said like she's giving Julia Roberts and I was like, oh my god, that's so true. Like she's got the big smile, the big hair.

He goes, what a babe you are? Thirty seven, thirty nine, now it's been in some time. Yeah, I'm with you, right, don't you think she's a babe? Like yeah, yeah, I'm also age, but yeah, right, you get it.

Like I she looked like she was gonna like she went to New Orleans to figure out a murder. Like it was like this like hot, just babe. I don't know there's a better way to put it. And I I just with the trees and the willows and the white and he's in white.

They look no, it looked like a movie like her on that tandem bike through the trees. I was like, this is a Julia Roberts wrong com that I'm watching.

The White Pants figure out a murder.

It's all like I was like in trance and I made fun of kelsey A. She doesn't seem to open her mouth when she talks.

She's kind of like a ventriloquist.

But I I do like hers was just so ultrasweet, and all I could think about is they bring her to the family and it's all about the mom who passed away. But like the fact that she's like the mom's you know, like walking. I don't know there's a word for this, but like her tribute almost like they said that she's so alike the mom. Yeah, even the sister even said that. And the dad, who the amount of women are gonna push for him to be on the Golden Bachelor, I mean, like, I think.

I don't know if he's old enough.

Though he's got the gray hair, he's got.

A dead wife's over sixty. If he's over sixty, he would be amazing.

Yeah, but yeah, that's what I kept thinking of. He's a soft spoken, sweet guy, and to me, it felt like kelsey A was like ready, I don't know why it just felt like she was into him.

It felt like he was ready for her.

The dynamic felt right, but she became the background with which everything else got judged, because then when we go to Rachel, you're like, oh, this is a little different, Like this is uncomfortable. Rachel also bringing up the fact that she's like the last guy I brought home. Dump me or I dumped him. It didn't end well. My parents are overprotecting. I would have liked to have known that a couple of weeks before.

Yeah, they were very the parents were very like it was like a big thing, like, yeah, this girl could not get her heart broke.

And there was a few of those this episode where it was like, let me write before you my family give you some really crucial information about my dating history with like I felt like all with Rachel and with Maria it was like, let me just drop a bomb on you before we walk in there. I was almost engaged. My parents had to pick up the broken pieces of my heart and we're not over it. Let's go. And then Maria was like, ps, you're the first guy I've ever brought home. All right, let's go.

Like it was bizarre.

I was like, welcome, to the Luau, you know, like what it was crazy, and I felt for Joey, And you know, I like Joey a lot. I think he's a great guy. He's been he I think he should coach men going on reality TV, Like yeah.

He's he couldn't be doing any better. Like the way he's incredible, way he's talked to the parents all these home times.

I was like, I've never seen a lean handle hometowns better.

So fantastic. It seems he means what he says. It's believable. It's like thoughtful, the way he talks to the parents. And then when he went into Rachel's home and she's like, oh, by the way, here's this like tradition you're supposed to do with my mom that he's never done, and then he like goes to do it, and I'm like, okay, I was.

I was saying for him, oh my god, same, which she was like, by the way, Like I was like, Joe was with my Indian side of my family recently, and there was a few things that I was gonna be like, oh, you should do this, and I was like, you know, we're not gonna We're not gonna do the greeting souse, I'm just gonna get too much anxiety, like watching you try to execute those so for Rachel to throw that on him and then he goes to do a poll like for respect. I was my heart is pounding. I did a great, wonderful You're fantastic, Joey. Joe Joey went in so confident like he did it. Everyone was like, WHOA, He's amazing.

I was like yes, when they cheered for him, I felt like I was right. I felt the same heart pounding, like I care about Joey like I genuinely do. And I was like, oh, this is like and again this whole season, like with the trauma dumping, like everything, he keeps getting these like things thrown at him. He's like on Legends of the Hidden Temple and you don't know what the next thing he's gonna have to jump over, Like what's o mec gonna throw at him next? And he gets this like super serious tradition and then they cheer for him. I'm like the janitor and Rudy I'm like in the hallway happened, you know, like he again, yeah, who's the wild man now? Like I'm Jon Favreau you know, like I I really like it. Yeah, the Rachel date was fun, but like it took on, it kind of.

Felt like, well, and then they're like, you're gonna eat the ear because that's the respectful thing of the pig. And he was like, yeah, let's get in there, like I'll dip it in some sauce. Like he just crushed it.

But yeah, that's not I mean, that's an era of pigre is. Probably he's good.

Well, we are adventurous eaters. Like if you're not an adventurous eater, that's like the last thing someone wants to do. Also, like seeing the pig would like like make a lot of people queezy, I think.

I mean, can you imagine he comes in there and he's like, I'm actually vegan, you know, like right, and so yeah, that date, but then you you know, hovering over that date, like it wasn't about Joey.

Rachel's date was.

About like a family, like being like you're gonna be okay, but we're protective.

We've done this before.

I mean, like, I mean it's crazy to me that like we were almost engaged and now we're going to do the same thing on TV. Yeah, of course, they're going to be protective, like yeah, and he's like yeah. But they were good, they were listen, they were they were very nice. But it felt like their date was about something.

Else, you know, Right, there was like an underlying tone of like what they went through before, and that put me on the horizon for a second time.

Right, this was almost healing for them, you know, Like and then Daisy's was was a Middle America bachelor fans like web like that, like.

The Christmas Street Park or whatever, Chris Street Park.

I mean, it was a total Harmark movie and you're like, is this how she lives every day?

Like what is this?

And then like the friends come up and the friends made her look very young to me, like it made her ring, you know, almost like not ready for and I kind of from Daisy's hometown, it kind of felt like someone who.

Wasn't here for a husband, what was here to grow up?

Like I don't I bought lesson to Daisy after seeing her hometown, Like it felt like, you know, she's just hearing her brother speak for the first time, like we got stuff to get over.

Like this felt like.

It was Daisy's you know, closure on an era of her life as opposed to like do I bring this guy in.

I don't know how you guys felt.

I just don't. Yeah, I think watching it, I feel I don't know how much Daisy is into Joey. I think she. I think she likes him. I think she would casually date him. I just don't think she's ready to get engaged to that man.

Yeah, I don't know about you guys. It kind of felt like she went through something so traumatic. I'm never gonna like doubt her experience, Like it seems like it was a huge deal for her.

That almost this is like a version of like, oh I can do this now too, do you know what I mean?

Like she even says to her friends, Wow, someone, I didn't think anyone could love me with a cochlear implant. I'm like, okay, that is to me crazy, Like that's actually a crazy thing that like I've never the bar is very low for men. If all you have to do is say, oh my god, that sounds horrible, and she's like, oh my god, you don't think I'm you know, like like the worst ever. And it's like what person, you know, human being on earth would see someone of the cochlear implant be.

Like you're unmarriable.

But she's kind of going through that, which from her perspective I understand. I just think it's miss you know, this is her going through it the first time right right since you.

Know, yeah, like she went through this huge life altering traumatic experience, and it's showing how like early on she is on her journey out of that, because it's like, yeah, this is the first guy I've seriously dated since losing my hearing, and you're seeing a lot of first with Daisy that it's like, hmm, like the first can be the one, but is this going to be that case? Like where she like whoa, Like I actually have a lot of potential here to go date a bunch of dudes that maybe I'm more into than Joey, and like this thing isn't gonna stop me. Like she's now seeing like her future ahead of her, like widen, I think throughout this process, I.

Thought the same exact thing, Especially when she's having that conversation with her friends. I'm like it did have an element of her being like, wait, dudes will fuck me.

You know, she's seeing her she's like finally seeing her worth right, It's absolutely and she's like, okay.

This is walking and marriage is running, so that this date with her and she's got the whole family, the grandparents, I mean, the grandma who looked like who we thought the Golden Bachelorette would look like, you know, like, but it's like, no, they're actually younger than the grandma, you know, like the dad, her dad is not what I imagined a Christmas Tree number to look like tech billionaires.

Tech Washington. It's like Seattle. That's what I got. That's what I was getting.

You hear Christmas Tree Farm, and then you see Daisy and it's like Hallmark movie setting, Hallmark movie character. It all fits together. And then you see the dad and you're like, but that one doesn't fit right.

It almost You're like, oh, I guess this is a multi billion dollar business. I guess growing trees isn't just like oh maybe back in like the nineteen hundreds, come buy my tree over at the farm. And now this guy's you know, the mogul who's like, yeah, we gotta sell thirty million trees if we're gonna make even this season, you know, like it did have. You're like, oh, I guess this is a real business because he just looked like a business man.

You know.

Yeah, if you have a tree in America, it's coming from Daisy's farm.

That's yeah, right right.

Let's go uh real quick, let's go to Maria's hometown. What'd you think?

So Maria came to my show in Toronto, and like Serena, so.

Oh did she?

Yeah? She she came to my show and she was very nice.

She posted like I got my ticket and I invited her back after the show. And you know, Maria, I think, is like, I think she's a great reality TV show character and and I told her this to her face, and I believe it. I think she's got cool girl in the cafeteria energy. And I think that that's the reason women in the house loved her, and that's also the reason some of them did not like her. And I said to her, I was like, you just seem like you're gonna have a podcast where you give dating and relaysia of advice, but you're just repeating things everyone said it heard before.

You know, it's gonna be like you know Alex Cooper too. She has that energy. So I enjoyed.

She was so nice, but she's like, you know, she's someone I would keep until hometowns, like I would have fun with and on the date. But them doing the shot on the boat was telling to me, that's why she's here, and that's why I don't think it was like red for marriage, Like you're like, this is a huge moment in your life. You're going back to your house tonight, We're gonna do a shot.

I don't know.

It's fun, don't get me wrong, but like and then she's like and surprise, I've never brought anyone home to my parents, Like, yeah, that was.

That was what was telling for me. After I saw the Niagara Falls scene, I was just like, it's it's not her. What'd you think about what'd you think about her dad?

I thought he's awesome.

He was and I you know, this is why I love The Bachelor.

They're playing the music, they got the Italian Godfather.

Music, and ye, he's Greek and he's Greek there I think he's half and half.

They're half, you know, half Greek half Italian, and uh, you know, when Maria came back like to say hello, she was like, you know, Maron, Like she says that a lot, like it's like her catchphrase or something. And then you could just tell she was gonna be from a family like that where everyone's like ball busting, they're gonna like like even the dad conversation happened at the table with the kids there, like he was like, you gotta be good to my daughter, Like that's usually like you know, you know, what's her name's dad took him aside behind a bush to be like, do you love her?

And then like Maria's dad.

Is like tell me, you know, like you better not ruin this girl. She's just my favorite, and in front of her his other two kids, Like it was just so funny. It was like, you know, it was very much similar to like how my family would do it. And I think a lot of people are gonna connect with like the way her dad was And yeah, what did you guys think?

No, I completely agree, Yeah, I agree too. We liked it for sure. We thought the family was great. We thought we thought after the way Joey was acting during the day portion though, there was a good chance that she was gonna be going home.

Well, here's another thing, when she has a friend there.

I just think when you have a friend at the family event you're looking for, don't it just rings young to me? It rings not ready, like you know, be here with your family, like I'm here with your family, Like what's this friend doing here?

Like I have? But what if the friends?

What if the friends like like like family.

I don't know.

I think it's different for girls. I think it's different for girls. I think it makes more sense for I think if a guy brought a friend to the family sit down, unless it was like this is my childhood best friend, like he's like my brother, I'd be like, do you need your bro here? But with girls, like women, I just have such like close female relationships, I think it makes sense.

Well, they could have done that during the day. I don't know, Like that's true.

I like it when they do the daytime for the friends, the night time for the family breakup like with Daisy. That makes sense to me.

Right, and people are going to defend Maria to the death is kind of what I've realized. Oh yeah, she is a very passionate fan base because she I've said this on my podcast.

I was like, she's uh Kate, uh no, She's how to Lose a Guy.

In ten Days, Kate Hudson.

She's Kate Hudson and how to Lose a Guy.

In Ten Days, she's acting so herself but can't drive the guy away.

It's she's a female.

Kate Hudson in How to Lose a Guy in Ten Days is a female version of the Avengers. It's a superhero because that woman goes out and is letting her freak flag fly and it doesn't push a guy away because he's in a bet. But at the same time, like she gets to be totally herself and he's still trying to figure it out.

And that's kind of what.

Maria does, Like she's totally Like it feels like she's you know, tripping and falling in front of us, but in a likable, lovable way. So you know, even when they're watching her home videos, like and the parents watching through the window, which was bizarre, and she throws You're like, oh, what's that.

She like throws something at the camera when she's a kid or something right, yeah.

Right, And you're watching that and you're going, oh, this is like a real life.

Like she's relatable.

She's relatable, and she's also going through Oh my, like she's growing up before us, like if you're if you're, if you're why And I think, Joey, that's why he's out on her, like because it's like he's like, I'm looking for someone who's more ready than this.

But it's funny because she's twenty nine. I think she's older than Joey, right, but.

I listen, age is a number at that point because I was watching that being like it felt like a big win for her to bring a guy home, not Joey home, you know, and I think that's where Joey was because then you know, you go to the Rose ceremony and it's like she's gonna pull him aside. Again, What did you think of that?

Yeah?

That was honestly, like I get why the other girls would be like, Okay, this is annoying and enough, but like it's her one last shot. She wants to leave feeling like she gave it her all.

Also cool, Yeah, part of me was like, you know, no regrets, She's gonna like leave with regrets if she doesn't do it. But if I'm Rachel Kelsey or Daisy, I'm like, you've got to be me right now.

Right, Well, this is the problem with Maria, you know.

The and this is what people have issue with is like, again, that's cool girl in high school energy, like we're always in her movie, you know, like she didn't think of the other women at all.

I mean, Rachel was mad.

My first thought is we are going to have an amazing women tell all because there's gonna be that has to be talked about. And she's like, I love you, but I'll tell you later. And it's like, no, no, no, this is my movie too. If I'm Rachel, I'm like, what the fuck?

You know?

Like and and I mean at that point, I was like, where's Jesse Palmer?

Like we barely seen him? He came out for the roast him when you were like, oh my god, Jesse, where have you been?

Right Palmer?

Like she takes some behind a helicopter, I'd be like, is Jesse here? If it's not a tennis lesson, Jesse ain't showing up.

You know, so we need we need more or more Jesse. All right, we're gonna uh, we're gonna play a game before we do U. Two predictions. Who's gonna end up with Joey and who's gonna be the next Bachelorette.

Okay, I don't look up spoilers.

I don't look up anything.

I think Maria has to be the next Bachelorette, whether she's ready or not, just based on the following that she's kind of gotten and how much people really care about her.

I don't know how you guys feel.

No, I think I think, yeah.

I think she's got to be a contender for sure. Her story was such a big one the whole season, and she's.

A character she pops off the screen.

She I mean, she came to my show wearing a long sleeve crop top in the middle of February. This is a personality, you know, like that tells you everything. Her dad, like, we want to see the dad again. I think she might hold out. She might pull a Tyler Cameron. It might be worth more to her to not maybe on the show than to go on it. I don't know if it works the same as it did even that short a time ago.

So I think I think she to me, that's the choice.

If the breakup didn't go the way it did, I wouldn't have been surprised to see her do like a roundabout and come back, you know, like pull like an airy and like show up during fantasy suiteds and be like, let's give it one more try. But I feel like the breakup was very finale.

Well even she also didn't cry.

She didn't really do like the stump speech that a lot of people do when they're in that limo like so, I don't know. I even when she left, I was like, I don't know if she wants this all, you know, I don't or this guy.

I think she just put like her tough face on and was like, okay, I lost tough it out right, Okay, Yeah that kind of plays.

To who do you think he'll end up with?

I think the babe Kelsey Kelsey A. I. I I don't know how. I I was surprised he kept like.

I kind of you know, I don't know if you keep kelsey A around if you're not taking her seriously at this point with all the mom stuff. And I agree, yeah, you know, like I take a point right, like I'm trying to think of like who you know. I guess that's maybe why I'm single at thirty nine. I'm like, who would be let down the least? Like that's who I'm gonna dump now? Like who would be the worst breakup? Is my thought, because she would be a pretty tough breakup. I just don't I'm so I'm literally sitting here just like wondering how like I'm gonna trust Joey with my life at this point, Like I I just wonder how he's gonna handle fantasy suites, Like I'm more curious than anything else, aren't you.

He's gonna handle it like a gem because.

Right probably this is how I'm gonna start, you know, going to my own version of a fantasy suite.

I'm gonna do whatever Joey tells me to do.

Well, we did ask him, We had him on the podcast last week, and we did ask if he set any like rules or boundaries like we've seen bachels in the past where they're like, I'm not going to do this, right, I'm going to do this And he was like, no, I did not do that, which I think is good.

He saw what happened to Zach when he did that. I mean like that.

Was the worst That's the worst move of all.

Time I have not.

And he say that, right, and Zach's such a nice guy, like I I met him, and I was like, this guy isn't And it's like such a horrific thing to do to someone else, to make them the person that like what he ended up the way it played out for Zach was like, so the opposite of but what he meant for to happen.

Yeah, oh my god.

No, Like we love Zach, like we've met him a few times and he's fantastic. He just like set himself up for failure.

That week clay told everybody loved them. He was so confident.

And now you see Clayton on like TikTok, and you're like, yeah, this makes sense that he would be a big dumb animal, you know, Like I.

It is just it's so funny when you start to meet you know.

All you guys and like, I I don't you know you guys know this Like from dealing with Bachelor Nation, so to speak, people have such like they come up to you so aggressively if they don't watch the show. I hate the Bachelor, you know, like and when they hear that, I like make jokes about it. They might, And then I get sent people's jokes and they're like horrific and mean, and I'm like, no, no, no, there's no Like I hope I never make someone feel bad about them.

That's not the goal.

It's just like to laugh at stupid shit in the show and to break it down like I do sports, like I would sports.

But then you meet.

Someone and you're like, like the Zach Shallcross season. I'm like, ah, buddy, you thought.

This was going to go a whole different direction, like this is not in.

Your body to be like a mean guy like and then it looked kind of mean.

You know, it's so interesting.

All Right, We're gonna play a game your Bachelor Nation picks. It's called and it's who from bachel Nation would, So there's like ten of these kind of rapid fire okay, and I'm just gonna ask him. But yeah, okay, I don't know why I'm setting it up like this. Okay, swap life's with for a day Tyler Cameron.

There's no question ever. I just want to know what it's like to have abs like that.

Have as a surprise guest on your tour.

Surprise guest on my tour.

I guess it would be Maria at this point, just because when I when she posted that she was coming, like literally people bought tickets, Like I was like, I can't believe that she was on two episodes and they're buying tickets.

I was like, who is this, Joe? You know, like I.

Uh have dinner with their family.

I want to have dinner with.

Is it filmed, yes, Katie when with her mom and her.

Aunt Katie Thurston.

Katie Thurston, the mom and the aunt. Right, remember how how uncomfortable that was. I I would want to see how that would go. I just want to see if they've you know, changed at all.

I knew you were going to be good with this, Okay, go on a pub crawl with.

You.

I want to go on a pub crawl with you through Chicago. I want to, all right.

I love that Joe did say before we started this podcast. I'm going to be offended if Jared doesn't.

And multiple times no, I want I want Joe on the pub crawl. I want to go around, you know, old town and see a light a day in the life.

Even though I live here, I probably live two blocks.

From you looking at you out my window.

Start a podcast with.

I would want to start a pod cast with Nick Vial because I'm positive he would get the most money out of it. He would find a way to trick someone into giving us their life savings to do it. So I trust his keen ability to make money no matter what.

That's fair. Go to Coachella with.

Nobody. I would never go to Coachella.

I would I any festival where I'm forced to stand? Do we have a sitting area? I guess you know who. I would go with Hannah Gee and her husband what's his name?

Dylan?

Dylan and Hannah g because I know that they would have like a private VIP section where only rich people could go and the peasants wouldn't be allowed in, And I'd have like a good situation. Whatever, if you're going to go, that's the only option, like right, that's the only Joe and I are both the same age. No, there's no I'm only going with Dylan on his dad's private jet.

Yeah, let let dress you.

Whoever's dressing Joey this season?

That guy got so much better? What's going on?

Just say, really well, it's the same stylens as always is. He's just he dresses really well. I don't know they like I'm assuming they always cater to the lead style and what they want to wear, just like within certain parameters. But like I.

Doesn't Zach and Clayton like see this season and go Maybe I need less to give less opinions on my clothing, Like I feel I feel.

Like Joey was like, literally put me in anything. I don't care. This is kind of what I'm comfortable wearing, like do whatever. Or maybe he was very opinionated.

I don't know, right, I would like to know, or maybe the stylists had an intervention, someone told him, like get your ship together.

He's also he's also good. He's also good looking, like that that that plays.

He also I told him this. He has a tennis players build, which I think is the the the king of of builds.

For men, like especially for clothing.

It's strong but not intimidating, lean but not skinny. I've said this so many times and it sounds like I'm like trying to seduce Joey at this point, but I I I do believe that he is the most dressable body.

Yeah, there you go, the most. I'm sitting here.

I'm like, I'm like the build of a of a clean x box and I'm just jealous.

I just toss him, Okay, uh make the bachelor.

Who would I want to be the bachelor?

Yeah?

I think.

I don't married or they married or in a relationship too, Like I don't know if I want someone messy or not messy.

Do you know what I mean?

Like, I'm not sure what I even want anymore because Joey was so I want someone normal, like if I'm to be honest, like after watching Gary and how much I love that season, I want like someone older. I I I think I want me. I want me to be the Bachelor. I want to see what happens when we stop. You know, we have an older guy who asks every woman what Chinese food order they would get as a first question.

And also to see my mom on the Bachelor would be hilarious.

Where do you order Chinese food from.

New York City?

Overrated Chinese food as far as takeout is concerned.

So I don't really have a good place.

There's a place that's on in the East Side that's really good.

Fuck, I'm from a dim sum Chelsea.

It's actually it's actually really good. Yeah, yeah, definitely recommend if they delivered to you.

Do they deliver it three in the morning after I've had seventeen martinis.

No, I actually think they close it ten.

That's a bad thing. But okay, I'm gonna go check it out.

Because I'm on the same I'm I'm close to there, so maybe I need a place, New York, Boston.

I'm from Boston.

Boston is the best Chinese food, like takeout style, and New York is Yeah, New York is just lets me down again and again.

But I not, you know, I don't want to besmirch the city.

Boston's a good food city, good food city, but everything no, no, no, no.

Boston and Chicago are very similar to me. It's like they can do a bar food, well it's Barcelona.

That it's no Barcelona.

It's it's no Barcelona. No. I I Boston like to me, La has great.

Food, like LA's got LA's got great food, great restaurants, really dies.

And it's in Philly.

I have to give a shout out to Philadelphia has one of the best food scenes in the country. And people don't think of Philly because they hear cheese steak and some asshole yells at them.

But like they have I think some of the best.

And this also is economics when I talk about food cities like New Orleans has good food too, like because there's like if you're a young creative chef and you want to open a restaurant, you need money to do that. So New York is so restrictive like Toronto just by the nature of it being an island. Toronto's wide. I think that's why the food is probably good, you know that helps it.

Yeah.

Yeah. In Chicago a hard place to open up a restaurant too, because it's fucking they're ridiculous of what they're charging for real estate. Especially in the West Loop. You can't even attempt to do it.

Now, that's a listen, man, I I and I like West Loop like that to me is like the West Village. But I'm in the West Village and you know, West Village is now like a Simon mall, like places are moving here after they got big somewhere else. Like yeah, Industry Pizza just opened up, and it's like they don't open up unless there's like, you know, an investor that looks like Daisy's dad helping bankroll it.

Also, that pizza is awesome.

So good.

I mean, I don't care that it's the newer one. It is so so good.

It's just as the same.

Yeah, that pizza, Like it is like there and you could tell everyone working there wants to be in culinary, Like there's a vibe there very they care.

They are all right.

Last one and then then we're done. Who would you want to make the Bachelorette, which if anyone from Beach Nation. So I guess you can't really say Maria because you already sat her.

I'm cheering for Susan from the Golden I you know, I guess I'm like thinking Golden I. I really want them to change the Bachelorette. I really want them to have a woman who is And I've said this, I don't know if I've said this before, but I just think the Bachelorette is not as fun of a show because of the makeup, isn't serving like who it needs to serve. I think if they had like a thirty five year old lawyer who's never been married, who's been crushing it, and then the men you cast are like thirty five and above.

Like, I don't know why they haven't done that yet. I don't know what they did.

They had Claire Crawley, who but.

Then but they didn't cast that in a way that was adult. Like I I to me, in my opinion, that's fair, but I I don't know. I just want to see, like, but maybe the men would be too afraid again in the in the same vein as like, how do you find these guys with no history to come on?

Yeah?

Yeah, I think it'd be hard to cast stat but I don't know.

So that wouldn't that be a fun show to watch? Like, wouldn't you cheer? Like I don't know the success of the Golden Bachelor. I want I want the regular Bachelorette, you know.

Like I want that?

See I don't. I yes, but like I have something.

You want the show to grow up with you so you can always relate to your age.

I'm getting too old. I'm too old for this.

I can't watch twenty five year olds.

My friends, though, will say they'll be like, I want the Bachelor of the Bacherette to be hotter than me. They're like, I don't want someone that's like looks like me or is relatable to me. They're like, I wanted to be like wow, Like she didn't have to.

Do that, right, I said I wanted to be the Bachelor.

No, I lit it could be a hot thirty five.

Year old woman, Like she could be totally. I'm just like adding on to what you're saying, like they could be thirty five crisis. So I think looks play actually like a huge role into it.

Though I'm with you. I I yeah, someone we you know, it has to be someone, and women follow other women for their style. I've never followed a man on Instagram for his style, So I agree with you that there has to be some aspirational Like I just love how she dresses, I love how she operates, like, you.

Know, that's what I'm beautiful.

She's successful, she's like quick on your feet, Like they have to be an aspirational figure if they're too relatable. I think it is not as like there's not as much like glitz and glam to it. It doesn't feels fansy.

Listen, you go on days women at a certain age and you go and you're like, I, you know, how do you tell your own story? You know, like there's two ways to tell it. There's the sad way and then there's the fun way. You know, like everyone's got two versions.

And I think that's why. I think that's why Golden was so great, because everyone was looking at Gary and these women's being like, yes, that's how I want to be when I'm sixty or seventy.

Years right, absolutely, and they were pumped to just be out of the house. This was their Thelma and Louise. This is there, this is their eighty Brady. We are out, We're doing it. We're vivacious work again like Daisy's Grandma's who we thought we were getting and we thought we were gonna be sad and it ended up being Daisy's dad. Hot you know banker type.

You know so well.

We are going to see the gold Woman on next week's episode or one of the upcoming episodes, as we saw on the teaser, so yeah, yeah we will.

And answer to the question of who do you want to make the best arette is Susan. Okay, well that does it for the episode. Jared, Thank you so much for coming on. We really appreciate it a pleasure. It's always so good to see you guys.

Let's go out, let's go I always forget you guys. Are in New York, come to a show, come to the seller. We're gonna do something.
