Hey, everybody, welcome back to bet Your Happy Hour. I'm Joe and we are back with Jared Free Part two. We're just gonna pick it up where we left off.

Hometown recap. We missed it.

We did the first two in part one to go listen, and now we're diving into Jordan's.

Jordan Jordan Chicago. Watching Jordan like and now knowing that I know him, just the way he acts and the way he handled everything makes complete sense to me.

I will say, I think Jordan and Joe, Joe, it felt like Jordan did the.

Hometown date you would have done? Yes, Yeah, like it is like I wouldn't.

I wouldn't go to Luml Noddies. I would have went to Pea Quoads.

But yeah, it was it was a little on the nose.

Yeah. Oh. Also, yeah, I would have to ask him about that cake because I don't know about that far.

Did you know what it was?

I think it's from I think it's from like the Green Goddess or the Green Grocery, one of those one of those us in the groceres. But that rainbow cake, you fucking kidding? I mean like I could think of ten better cakes than a Rainbow.

I was like, I was expecting it to look a little dry.

I was expecting exactly what we got, which was, you know, him basically being Cubby Bear, you know, the mascot of Chicago and giving us the full Chicago experience.

But it was.

Funny having Pascal and him go back to back and comparing their Chicago hometown dates.

Yeah, well he's totally different. Yeah, Like he's very much like lives. Jordan's like a what looks to be like lives in like Lincoln Park, like lives in Chicago, and Pascal's lives in Lincoln Park. I mean, I don't know where he it's like park and Park, Wicker Park. Yeah, but that's yeah, that's what that's what he's giving. But just the way even like we see at the end of the at the end of the episode, Jordan gets cut, but just like how we handled it was very much like all right, yeah, this was this was fun. See you later.

I don't think I don't think he was that into Joan or he was at least moving way slower than everyone else was to the point where I think he knew, Like he even said he's like if I'm supposed to fall in love and engaged in two weeks.

That's not gonna happen. It's like, well, that's what is happening.

I never saw it with him and Joan.

It was very and they even say, like they even referenced when they had their like one on one, Like the one line in the song they reference is like became friends and then became more like.

It was friends. Vibe.

I don't even you know, like Jordan, I you know, jew I keep calling him Jewish Jordan because I'm like, I know what what his deal like? It felt like him and like if if Jordan went to Florida and Joan went to Florida, they'd be on two different coasts. Joan would be in Naples and Jordan would be in Boca, and you can just feel that they'd wave to each other, but it wouldn't be a love match.

Jordan and Pascal are going to go to Cubs games. They're gonna duck out at about the seventh inning, and we're going to see them hanging out at like most canteena together having the best time.

That hope so well.

They even said, like, you know, the stuff with his family was very telling, just like that he's like it seems as though it's funny, like we've gotten all the versions of male trauma. Wife passed, wife left me late at late in life, wife, you know, slept around on me, you know, and like it doesn't seem like he's really let anyone into his dating world.

Well, his kids basically said like, yeah, he hasn't dated anyone seriously in over a decade. Yeah, since his ex wife, which I don't know if this is this is probably a good experience for him on like a personal healing level, but like I, it would be very hard to all of a sudden like jump in and get engaged like the first girl you've seriously dated in eleven years.

Well, I also feel like guys.

I feel like guys get to a certain age where they're kind of where they make peace with like I'm just gonna be a single guy.

Like I.

I I kind of got to that point when I was like thirty where I was like, all right, I this is this might be my life. Yeah, and then I went on The Bachelor and all change. But if I didn't, I was like, yeah, this is kind of how but I would have lived very similar to like how Jordan's living.

Yeah, well I like to think I still have hope as a same but I you know.

Joe's like, not you thirt He's like twenty nine, like giving up?

Yeah, what dude, what are you talking so dark?

You know year old woman.

I guess I'm aunt Stacy.

From now on, I guess guess I'm uncle Joey.

Weren't really trying to find anyone.

You were slippers on the beach and.

Those because I like to think I still live.

I mean, grocery, Joe chill Man, you really went to zero to sixty.

But actually, if you talked to Ben Higgens, Ben Higgens when he went on the match was like twenty five, and he said, He's like, I'd made peace with the fact that I was going to be single forever, and he was looking back, Yeah, so what are.

You my grandmother after my grandfather passed, said he.

Was up in an area where everyone was getting married and having kids young, and it was just like all he knew and he was like, yeah, I'd made peace with the fact it was going to be you know, single for the rest of my life and like alone forever. But he's like, looking back, that's crazy because I was twenty five years old.

So like the furniture was gone, like after the breakup, Like the furniture was gone, and he was kind of just sitting in his living room with like a like a picnic chair and like cracked open a beer and was like, yeah, like.

This is it.

I guess I just float away on this ice flow and die.

Yeah, that's crazy.

I mean I go on first dates, Joe, you know, like I'm living a life. Yeah, I like I do have relationships. I can still have kids, you know.

You know, no, I'm not saying I wasn't saying it in a way of like there's no hope. I I just kind of was like for.

Me, well, dating, I'll let me save you. Dating is not a priority for men. It's just not like the idea of the social thing of like oh no, what will people think if I'm not with someone, or my clock ticking? All those things just aren't Like listen, I have a dating podcast.

I give dating advice. On the podcast.

Very few men listen because men don't think they have a problem to deal with.

You know.

The reason women listen to dating podcast is like they're like, I have an issue. I'm doing well everywhere else, but why can't I fix this issue? I need to see if Like, like, we get questions from women all the time that are like, is it.

Okay for me to be annoyed that this guy did this on a date?

The idea of like a guy asking if it's okay for him to like be turned off by something, It's crazy.

It just would never be asked.

And like women are like, am I a bad person for being mad that he made me pay for the dates? And then he you know, hit me in the tits afterwards You're like, yeah, you can be mad, Like what are you talking about?

Am I being too picky?

Like?

No, you're You're.

Right, dating's wild.

You Also, your first relationship was at thirty, so I don't know why you'd give it up.

Those my first relationship, but it was my first like longer, longer relationship.

Your first longer relationship was what was.

When he went on The Bachelor? No before me?

Yeah? Before?

But okay, go back to this hold on. What did you think of Jordan's brothers? Jordan's brothers? I could not Well, you know.

Jordan's brothers.

That's how I put That's how I was able to put it together. His brother that didn't speak was the one that I really love.

Quickly the story again in case anyone missed part one and doesn't know what you're talking about.

Okay, so yeah, real quick, I used to in high school. I started working for my cousins at the Chicago Mercantylics Change. They were traders on the floor, my cousin Louis and Joey. My cousin Louis worked in the euro dollar pit, and that's where Jordan worked, and that's why I always looked at him, like, oh, he looks so familiar. And then when I saw his brother at the Hometowns. He actually traded in the Nasdaq when I traded it.

There, for like, would they recognize you?

I bet you Jordan knows who I am.

Yes, they got it after you.

Yeah, I would think I would think you know, because.

But I was, come on, it's grocery Joe. I don't know.

He may not, but I'm sure he definitely Like he definitely, I definitely had a.

Lot of family members.

He definitely knows my cousin Louis, Like he's yeah, my cousin Louis Louise. Yeah, my cousin Louis worked for his brother and That's how when I saw the brother, That's what I was like. Now I know exactly who this man is.

But they looked alike, the brother and him.

The brothers related.

No, they were like a mad They were like a magic eye. I couldn't look away from them. They were all different shapes and heights. Nothing made sense they had. Yeah, it was like they were really a wild looking bunch. I you know, remember when like they all did look like family ish, Like remember when Colin O'Brien used to do the bit where he'd have like they he'd be like rumored couples and then they'd take their faces and put them together and it would look like magazine clippings were just like taped together. That's what they looked like. I was like, why is one of them eight feet tall? The other ones three feet tall? Like it was just like they were a wild ye them being on screen, I.

Couldn't look like.

So like not pale, but he's white. His brothers were like tan.

Yeah, they all look very different.

Yeah, and different and like a hint of the same. Like it was like it was enough the same that I was like squinting at the TV. I'm like, one are these the pep pois Like it was like crazy, like.

Yeah, yeah, they the look.

But I did enjoy the daughters.

I thought they were like it's always like they were like adult daughters who were like getting answers and.

Oh yeah, they were asking good questions.

Good questions, and it felt like this was their opportunity to get answers from their dad that they felt uncomfortable asking, which this show. Then That's what I knew he was going home because I'm like, this is about something else. This is Joan is a side character on Jordan's show right now.

Yeah, So that was like, yeah, yeah, you're so right.

The hometown was less about Jordan and Joan for the kids and more about being like, dad, what is going on? Like right talking about you, You've opened the door now because you're on the dating show for us to ask some some questions that we've been talking about behind your back for years. Absolutely, And you know the daughters have been talking about this for years and now they're like all right, going in there, you asked.

This, I'm asking this.

Let's get some Masters conference after Joan. Cool, but like it's probably not going to work out, so like this is our opportunity, right.

He's not marrying you know, Gwendolen from you know, Wicked or something.

It ain't happening.

Yeah, I don't think.

I think they liked her and thought she was lovely, but I just think they were like, we know our.

Dad and like as a tool.

Yeah, she was a step for him towards something in the future.

He's a nice guy to Jordan.

I remember him.

Actually thought he was going to be in her top two.

I want to see him episode he's been. I can see him being the baster. I agree.

He's been messaging me since the beginning of the whole thing. He's been very nice, like very sweet. I'm going to Chicago for the Bears Patriots game, and I was like, we gotta get a drink or something.

So it's in the works.

When is that game? November ninth. My brother's a coach for the team.

Oh yeah, that's right, that's right. I I forget that. That'll be a fun game.

Well from Boston, So we're gonna go, Like, I got some high school friends coming. I don't know what their wives names are because I've never asked.

But.

Yeah, I get that. I get that all right.

Moving out, we have what's her face? How she's doing, how the kids.

Yeah, uh, we have we have Chalk's hometown, which was heavy.

I wasn't except this was not at all was that I was expecting.

To, Hey, guys, want to come to my mom's funeral? Like, what is that?

It?

Really want to see me? I want to see me say goodbye to her? I was I dig a tree?

What?

Wait?

Was itziest hometown date I have ever witnessed?

This is like I'm surprised that the family and like no judgment that they did this, but like was surprised that they agreed to partake in such like an intimate emotional thing on camera.

Well it was a second one, Like I feel like they've done this already, right, and this was an opportunity to like, you know again, Like especially if someone's recently passed, it's like, yeah, we'll honor them again. That it's always who's gonna say no to that? But it is weird to be like, hey, I want you to meet my whole friends and family.

Also mom's dead.

And it's a very it was it's a very intimate date like that, Like and that's that's the thing what you were saying. It's it just seems like like if Chuck wasn't as far ahead as he was, like this doesn't happen, but Liker to me, like there's like yeah, like there's zero chants that like Jordan does this, Like if Jordan's mother would have passed.

Away like back this, yeah he's got Yeah he's gone where Yeah he's not back. I mean yeah, watching it, it's kind of hard to just not think that.

Like it's also just like visually like there it's sunny either in a field, their outfits are matching, they're like strolling.

It's like it feels like a It.

Reminded me of it, like the the family from Succession just in like Wichita.

I didn't really get that, but I mean.

It was chalk Is just like so into her and googly eyed at her, and there's an element of like is this you know I would never accuse him of this, but there is some manipulation of like I'm just throwing you into like this very important part of my life and you're in like we're married now, you know, Like I I a little into that, but makes sense.

It make it lines up with him being a successful business man, right like just like kind of the way he's approaching this relationship. I feel like that.

Well, he's a very deal.

It's very assume clothes, it's very so all we need is the check and we'll be on our way.

Yeah, he does.

He has already assumed this deal is done, and he kind of he's been talking like that, like even at that bowling date a couple of weeks ago, like he's like, she's.

What I feeling.

Saw that.

I feel like we saw that with Teresa too, when it was Teresa Gary.

I feel like she also had that very like I don't want to say, like aggressive, like there was a drive there to like lock him in.

Yeah, and like she was pretty forward about that.

And I feel like the Golden contestant, at least, especially the men, there's less oft like I don't know, like competitiveness and like aggression of pursuing the leads.

The Golden guys were definitely yeah.

Well, I think Chalk was like the only one doing like he like you said, it sticks out like it did, and like he's like he even says like you're gonna marry me, like in front of everyone, doesn't he Like he makes like a comment and.

Like she's just like cool. I guess, like.

But I think she's obsessed with him too.

I do too.

I think they're like in love with each other.

Yeah, the way she was like cuddled up under his arms at the bowling alley like she's really into him.

What do you think Peyton Manning thinks of chalk?

Like the fact that they have the same exact voice, same like vib voice.

You haven't talked about this again? This is what we have. We have shut your eyes. That is paid Manning.

Just I need chalk to say o maha, and I need to hear it now. And here's the other thing about Chock, no mention of his name. How on earth does not one person say what's chalk from? Like?

Why not Chuck?

Right? What is chock short for? What does chuck mean?

Yeah?

Is it because the Kansas Jayhawks rock Chalk? Kansas Jayhawks. I And for Joe not to ask that, you kind of have to wonder what plans?

Yeah, well, she may have.

She may have asked that. Though she may have, we just might not have seen that.

I mean, come on, I I Also here's the other person I really loved on this episode was his his former fiance who had passed her dad. He looked like he came to this party to party like that guy had drink in his hand at every turn, just.

Like wheeling that cane. It was.

I loved his look. He looked like someone in Kansas. They just like approached on the road with his stick and bindle.

That just showed up to the reunion.

Okay, so I think I think, like, so overall, who do you think? Who do you think? Joan?

It's chock. It's chock. I hate to be it has to be chalk about it. Like you know in the NCAA tournament, I'm going chalk.

If you were to seed all the way, all right, But runner up anyone, anyone close?

I I think the runner up. I don't think it's close.

I think it's a toss up between Guy or Pascal. Like I think it could them, because I.

Really you don't think that. You can't see a world where she chooses Pascal.

You know who the winners are? Uh, Susan, who's gotten into all the d ms of all the men who have gone on the show.

Well, Susan. Susan and Kathy are getting like crazy.

I just saw these I saw Susan are real good for them.

That's all all said.

So we were with them right before and they were telling us about it because she was like, I'm getting a lower level facelift and they're getting like the two lasers done. But her face was so much more swollen than I expected it to be. Oh yeah, we had like a lengthy conversation where she said it.

Was going to be swollen.

I have I have to say it is very good for her, you know, to put up a reel with it.

You don't have to do that, Like, no, I love it.

This is what it is like because my mom just got a facelift and like I came home and there's like a concern with any facelift.

Was like that's kind of talked about, so.

You have to like you know, like I think, like just like the Golden Bachelor and the Golden Bachelorette did, like where it's like, oh, this is what a six year old looks like.

It's nice to see that they have.

A following of people that can see, oh, you're gonna be swallowing, this is a normal thing.

Yeah.

Yeah, I like that too because we have a lot of them on the podcast and sometimes we ask like, hey, what's what's your secret, Like we've had anyone be like, well, botox here, and I have botox here, and I have filler here, and I got this done, which I'm sure a lot of them do. Definitely, and that like is part of it. If you like, go off, you know, get your face lift.

So do your thing, live your life.

The winners are Chock and Susan's surgeon, who got the promotion on her Instagram.

Who who do you think will be the next Bachelor and who would you want to be there?

Okay, okay, so this is a good question.

I don't want Mark. I'm sorry we did it. It was fun. He's a nice guy. I feel for him. He's not ready. I can't hear him. He whispers a lot.

It's just no.

I Jordan would be fun because in the same way that Joan was like kind of an aspirational like thing for the men.

She's blonde, she's got the look.

I think Jordan looking young helps, you know, get people to like apply and not feel like you're going on the old person's show. Yeah, Pascal to me is too cartoonish to be the Golden Bachelor to take it seriously, you know, like I I want I like Pascal, but I want him on his own show with the salon.

Yeah he needs af.

Yeah, yeah, full spin off. I Who do you guys think?

I I yeah, I I after watching this whole season, I want Jordan. That's what I would want.

I think I agree. If not Jordan, I think Guy has a has an argument too.

Guy.

I don't know. I don't know. Yeah, Guy, guys.

I like Guy. He seems nice. He's a handsome guy. I just handsome Guy, Guy. I'm just missing something.

I just think it's hard with Jordan. Like, I really like Jordan. He's been one of my favorites all season, but with the way his journey ended, it really felt like he either a wasn't ready or be the process was just too fast for him as someone who doesn't really feel comfortable being vulnerable, and to then go be the lead and have to be the one that's like guiding the relationships, I feel like is the challenging.

Well.

But I just don't think he was that. I just don't think he was that into Jill.

I think that's part of it too.

I think if it was someone he was really into, it might have made a difference.

And I think if you Stacy Dane or whatever her name was.

I forgot about that, And I think if you give Jordan, yeah, like if it's thirty women and a few of them end up being like like in their late forties.

Okay, well you know that's a different show.

What about Keith? I think Keith would be good. I like his voice.

Yeah, I think I like Keith too, great personality. I think I think Keith.

Is like a star for Paradise.

Yeah, I think the issue with Paradise.

Yeah, they do Golden Paradise. I think they would at some point was gonna date Maria Keith's Golden Paradise.

Oh, they're definitely Bachelor and Boca they're gonna do exactly.

I mean, I don't see a world where they don't do that's if both if both of these shows keep running Golden Bachelor, Golden Bachelorette, I don't see a world where they don't do that.

Consider this my petition to be the bartender for Bachelor and Boca. Okay, I you do anything. I would love it. I would do games, I get all the gossip. I would ask them uncomfortable questions. I am there for it. I already go to Boca, my parents live there. I already know the vibe I'm in okay.

I would love to see that. At the very least, you have to do a date, like at the bare minimum, like you.

Have to do anything.

Any is already like being like, well, you're not going to be the bartender.

I'll go to meet market and hang out at the bar with them in Boca.

There you go.

Overall, overall, what are your thoughts on Joan is the Bachelorette and the whole season.

I really think she was fine and it was nice. I thought it was a good seaton. I love the premise. I here's the other thing I like. And I know this isn't really like hour and a half is the right amount of time for this show.

Hour and a half.

And I think that's why you guys probably liked Hometowns more, is like we got in and out of these hometowns, we got what we needed, the pay fun.

Perfect at that timeline.

Yeah, for a great show. Hour and a half is the show. And I don't And and here's the other thing.

I just don't understand why the franchise keeps going younger when you're seeing how much this works as a show. Why maybe they agree with Joe that life is over at thirty.

But I don't.

I think the fact that they don't have a thirty five and above bachelor Bachelorette is a crime.

This show should get a woman who is.

Thirty five a lawyer, and you go both ways, you go thirty and forty and you got and you have a great show that lives in reality.

So what would pitch? Okay?

But are you saying change the current or add another?

I guess what would you? I mean?

Joe would probably if we add another, he would call it like loser. Bachelor life is a is over back?

Well, I will say I will say when I a yeah, my hair my first season, I would say the show was geared towards more like that age group, like before me. Ari was the bachelor who was like thirty five. Yeah, Nick Viael was like thirty five or thirty six as the bachelor.

Claire was what thirty six?

Claire was well yeah, but that wasn't really but Claire.

They made it into such a big thing about her age that it became an insult. But even still, like Claire was a normal person. I didn't see Claire on TV and go whoa.

They made thought that like it didn't need to be a thing at all, like.

And it was made into it was made into such a thing that it became like really like it actually made her, It made her experience with the audience tougher.

I think than it had to.

Be well because her promo was like a.

It was Missus Robinson. Yes, missus was the graduate.

Yeah, and we're all sitting at home like, oh yeah, I would have gone to high school with her? How should I feel about this? Like, it's just like, I don't know. Jen was very nice. I think what we saw with Jen and Devin and the way that that ended, that was young people problems. That was a guy who wrote a check he couldn't cash, who wasn't ready with an established life, who told someone he loved her and needed her and she was the one. And then he got back to Houston and he remembered he had debts, and he was in a one bedroom apartment that he was renting, and then he realized, I'm not ready to be married.

To Jen who does shots on Tuesday nights.

So yeah, I was. I actually do think I do think Yeah, I think they need the key. I think they need to go back to casting a little older, Like I.

Think you could see.

Look at you. You you got married to me?

Yeah, I mean I was.

I was, well, I was very young when I went on the show.

But you guys got together. How old were you when you got together?

Twenty three?

You were twenty three.

I was twenty two on the Bachelor, I was like the second.

You were on twenty three?

You were twenty four on Paradise right, twenty three?

Soho you dog?

I was she was twenty three.

I was thirty.

She was twenty three. I was thirty four. But here's the thing. If I was the Bachelor at if I was the Bachelor at age thirty four, and Serena's on my season, and a couple of the girls in their in their mid twenties, and then you cast a bunch of girls that are thirty something and there we go. So you know we'll be ending the episode soon. But overall, this this has been your I think, are your fourth hometown episode with us? Have we grown as I.

Like that we're going to look back as we go on.

Will remam Oh, I hate that sucks so much.

All the famly this was like my eighth grade made fun.

Yeah, have I convinced you that the hometowns is a good episode.

Yet I am I'm on board after this, after after this Hometown I truly I enjoy it. I enjoy it. I actually think it's the best because you are getting people that are just not ready for TV and you're getting them and it's great.

You This makes me enjoy Hometowns more because at least I'm watching it knowing that we're going to recap it all together and I'm gonna get to hear your opinions, and you always make me laugh at the things you have to say. I do think I really like Golden Hometowns better than regular season hometowns significantly, so I think it they're.

More positive, they're lighter.

You don't get any like anxiety from the parents any like over like it's more of a negative experience when it's the child than when it's the parent.

Yes, I totally agree.

And also like the children are the children, you know what I mean, Like and sometimes on The Bachelor Hometowns, it's like these children are acting like adults. It's almost like they put on their dad mom's clothing to like do this like very you know, like you know, structured meet the parents thing, and it's like on this it's like the kids are sow themselves, the parents are so themselves. These randoms they bring in are just there hanging who they actually have like relationships with. Like it's like, yeah, I agree, this is better. I do love hometowns just because of the awkwardness of it all. But I agree, like the the the Golden hometowns are the king and Queen of hometowns.

Yeah, I think so. It's like a perfect change in pace.

Yeah right, there's a lived in experience.

It's like you know some even some of the Bachelor hometowns they go to like a staged house like it it's like, yeah, we're in, like you know, Wichita feels like it's chocks. Like when you go to like a bachelor's hometown, it's like, yeah, they're gonna be here. They're moving to Nashville in a week, Like they don't want to live here.

Well exactly, Like I was truly excited when we're like, oh, I was actually really excited to be like, oh, where does Pascal like where? I want to actually see their homes where when you get there.

Because they're like settled, they've lived there for like thirty years.

Yeah, it's like truly their hometown but like, I.

Don't care how Daisy's parents are living, and she lives in their holiday.

He's on a Christmas tree farm out of a Hallmark movie and they're like, yeah, cool, Yeah, she'll be in San Diego next week.

You learn less about them when it's like we're going to my parents' house in the city that I grew up and I don't live in anymore, whereas you learn so much more about like Pascal when we're literally going to his salon that he owns and like works at every.

Single day, and he's like, hey, ladies, and you just like see the dynamic right, Like, hey, great, it was fantastic.

I love that.

It was perfect all right.
