Once Bal Krishna and his friends were tending to their cattle next to the Yamuna river. It was very hot, so everyone took some water from the river.  But that water was contaminated due to snake Kaliya's poison. Bal Krishan used his powers to bring everybody back to their senses.

But to rid the Yamuna river of this ill effect, Bal Krishna jumped into the river. They fought bravely but finally Bal Krishna was able to overpower the snake and came out of the river standing and dancing on top of the snake's head
