2025 Flying in the wet season seminar

View descriptionShare

The wet season begins at the start of November and finishes at the end of April. Across the Top End the average rainfall is 1200mm. Humidity increases and temperatures rise, ranging from 25C to 33C. If you are flying across the Top End, it’s important to know what to do if the weather deteriorates during a flight. The following audio was recorded at our 'Flying in the wet season' seminar in Darwin in October 2025.

Join our industry experts:

  • Simon Grummett - Senior Transport Safety Investigator - ATSB
  • Sam Bethune - Aviation Meteorologist - Bureau of Meteorology
  • Angus Mitchell - Chief Commissioner - ATSB
  • Stephanie Gartshore - SQNLDR Darwin Air Traffic Control - Royal Australian Air Force
  • Braden Blennerhassett - Pilot - Royal Flying Doctors Service

You can also view a video recording of the 2025 Flying in the wet season seminar.
