Martin’s new “Dawn of the Surf Guitar” album reflects the history of electric instrumental guitar - one that resonates from the early 60s instro/surf sound, but with a modern twist. It was all recorded the old way - real guitars, amps, microphones and with minimum digital interference. While putting the album together Martin came across an old multi track tape of a song that Atlantics drummer extraordinaire, Peter Hood, and Martin were working on. He had a listen and decided to finish it off. The drum track was so good and had so much of Peter's energy. That song is Terminator. The album is packed with 12 new songs written by Martin. Martin has also been busy designing his ideal guitar and now the Martin Cilia Custom Guitar are available to guitarist around the world. The design incorporates the best features of several different guitar models Martin has recorded with over the years. Alan Bowles is a veteran country music singer, songwriter, guitarist and multi-award winning harmonica player as well as TV and film actor. He has also been a booking agent, festival and concert promoter. Releasing his own music and performing around the country music scene for many decades. The album sales are fund raising for the Australian Road Crew Association (ARCA), a not-for-profit organisation dedicated to helping ROAD CREW during hard times and serious illness through their welfare program. Many artists have generously given their permission for the release of the sound engineers’ desk tapes of their live performances that make up a diverse collection of some truly unique historical releases.
