When are we going to stop this rubbish about sacking anyone we don’t like?

View descriptionShare

You know I don’t like reality TV show so I haven’t seen any of The Bachelorette, but apparently one of the contestants has been dumped from the show having been labelled “misogynistic, crude and highly offensive”

The bloke’s name is Jess Glasgow and he’s a councillor on Noosa Council. You’d have to admit that a sitting councillor deciding to appear on a reality TV show is pretty dumb and it’s probably no surprise that it’s come back to bite him.

The Mayor of Noosa, Tony Wellington has called on him to resign because of his behaviour. Really? Resign from Council because of how you behaved on a reality TV show?

I don’t know whether this bloke is a good councillor or not. Let’s face it, good ones are pretty few and far between, but even if this bloke is a misogynist or even if he’s crude or highly offensive as the Mayor says, does it really affect his ability to make sure the rubbish gets picked up or the potholes get fixed?

When are we going to stop this absolute rubbish about sacking anyone we don’t like?
