We should be thanking the brave emergency service personnel and volunteers

View descriptionShare

Tomorrow, much of New South Wales will face catastrophic fire danger conditions while Queensland and WA also face extreme conditions. It’s an unprecedented situation that will see firefighting resources stretched as brave emergency service personnel and volunteers work around the clock to prevent loss of life and property.

It’s time like these we see the best of Australia as the community comes together in a time of crisis.

Yet it doesn’t seem to prevent some fringe dwellers from using tragedy to score political points. Enter Greens MP Adam Bandt who couldn’t help but use the dire conditions to push his climate change agenda and blame the Government for not banning coal.

Forget the fact that had we shut down every emitter of greenhouse gasses a decade ago, we still wouldn’t have prevented this current situation.

Why? Because Bandt and his ilk have conspired to prevent proper preparation for these catastrophic conditions.

We’re all entitled to our opinions and politicians will always try to outscore their opponents – but there’s a time and a place. However, it takes a bit of integrity, decorum and common sense to figure that out. Greens unfortunately lack all three.

You know I’m no fan of Deputy Prime Minister Michael McCormack, but I’m in 100% agreeance when he said “What people need now is a little bit of sympathy, understanding and real assistance, they need help, they need shelter, They don’t need the ravings of some pure, enlightened and woke capital city greenies at this time when they’re trying to save their homes.”

He’s hit the nail on the head.
