Leaving work at 28 degrees?

View descriptionShare

Wages are stagnant in Australia at the moment. We all know that. Unless you’re a corporate CEO or a public servant, chances are it’s been a while since you’ve seen a pay increase.

The age-old argument between businesses and the unions has been around productivity. In other words, if you want more money, find a way to be more productive. Sometimes that works, sometimes it doesn’t.

However surely, we have to agree that some unions take it way too far. Case in point the CFMMEU. One of Australia’s most powerful and certainly most militant unions wants Brisbane construction workers to down tools and go home if the temperature hits 28 degrees. AND THEY WANT TO STILL GET PAID!

Are we kidding???? You’d only have to work 3 months of the year!

Unions in decades past have made great strides in workers rights and conditions, but when some shiny-arsed union delegate comes up with this kind of rubbish, surely this union has run its course.
