Well today a killer and serial paedophile walked free from jail after a manifestly inadequate sentence.  Michael Guider, was convicted of the manslaughter of nine-year-old Samantha Knight and served just over 17 years in prison. Today he walked free. He’s never shown contrition, he’s never revealed the whereabouts of Samantha’s body.

It’s hard to blame the sentencing judge at the time because as we’ve discussed, in many ways, judges hands are tied by sentencing protocols. More often they’re just too lenient.

But what separates this case from many others is the circumstances under which this creature was granted parole.

His lawyers argued that he should be set free because he hasn’t molested any children since he’s been incarcerated! Can you believe it? He actually argued that while he was in jail he didn’t molest any children.

He also argued that he probably won’t reoffend, because child pornography is easier to access now than it was before he went to prison. In other words, this bloke argued that he won’t rape children because he can just get his rocks off watching kiddie porn on the internet. The parole board accepted that he won’t commit one crime because he can now commit another crime a lot easier.

It’s time to give the game away.
