After storm-related erosion at Austin’s Zilker Park damaged the tracks used by the beloved Zilker Zephyr, it looked like the end of the line for the little train. More than a year later, Austin Parks Foundation thinks they can have a new train ready to roll by next summer. The Zephyr was shut down in May 2019 after a series of heavy rains cut away at a portion of the track near the train’s turnaround point along the Ann and Roy Butler Hike and Bike trail.
