The Lakeway City Council on Monday night voted to approve the next step in bringing an H-E-B grocery store to a 21-acre property on the corner of Texas 71 and Serene Hills Drive. The preliminary plan for the property was first approved in 2007 and this use of the land is in line with the city’s future land use map, according to Building and Development Services Director Erin Carr. Though exact details about the store will not be confirmed until a later date, Mayor Tom Kilgore said it looks like the location will be a traditional H-E-B and not a Central Market.
