Richie Furay of Buffalo Springfield and Poco With Dave O'Brien on 995 The Mountain KQMT Denver

View descriptionShare

Richie Furay is a founding member of both Buffalo Springfield and Poco. He is a member of the Rock & Roll Hall Of Fame and Colorado Music Hall Of Fame and has been a resident of Boulder County, Colorado for over half-a-century.

Furay is releasing a new album, "In The Country" on July 8th, featuring covers of country songs originally performed by Garth Brooks, Alabama, Keith Urban, Lee Ann Womack and many others. The album was recorded in Nashville and features guest vocalists Timothy B. Schmit (a former fellow member of Poco) and Vince Gill, now both currently with The Eagles. Furay also recently made his debut at Nashville's legendary Grand Ole Opry. "In The Country" is available for pre-order here.

Furay talked with Dave O'Brien on 99.5 The Mountain KQMT Denver about the album and about his remarkable career as a pioneer in the Laurel Canyon "country-rock" sound that also spawned The Byrds; The Eagles; Crosby, Stills and Nash and The Flying Burrito Brothers among others.
