What happens when everyday objects become tools to challenge stereotypes and reclaim identity?

Since 2018, Wadawurrung artist Kait James has developed a distinct visual language through the reappropriation of racialised products, transforming familiar objects such as tea towels and souvenirs into sharp, thought-provoking works. This practice culminates in her most ambitious solo exhibition to date, Kait James: Red Flags

In this episode, James joins exhibition curator Aaron Bradbrook to discuss the ideas behind Red Flags. They explore the shifting political power of images and the strength of art in challenging narratives surrounding First Nations culture and representation.
