Today's guest on Art Matters was Abstract Expressionist painter MaryLin Litchfield.
She was in the studio today to tell us all about her current solo exhibition HeartFelt
which is now showing in the Lyre gallery at Burrinja Cultural Centre until May 3rd.
We talked about new beginnings and transformations - moving through emotions, grief, anger, persistance and calm.
These emotions are explored through colour and texture in MaryLin's canvases - all 31 of them.
Heart Felt is a large and bold body of work and a moving reminder of the way art can hold us through life’s hardest moments — and how creativity can become a space for reflection, resilience, and transformation.
MaryLin's work speaks not only to loss, but to courage… to memory… and to the quiet strength it takes to keep moving forward.
