Each episode of ‘Art Layers with Hornsby Art Society’, hosted by Hornsby artist Hadijah
Munting, will bring listeners lively interviews with talented local artists and musicians talking about their own creations and the challenges and rewards related to their personal creative processes.
The first episode will include Hadijah’s informal interview with the President of the Hornsby Art Society, Chris Beard, who provides an in-depth rundown on the Arts Society itself, from its inception to the present. Hadijah will also probe the world of extraordinary botanic artist Patricia Prince: her inspirations, ways of learning and love of art.
And a third interview with amateur musician and family man Kim Short will reveal how he
supports and sustains himself through his creative work, including a live studio performance of Kim playing an original composition on guitar.
Throughout Episode 1, listeners will be further delighted by interludes from Songs of
Disappearance, an album of Australian bird calls (released by The Bowerbird Collective and
Birdlife Australia) which was created to draw attention to endangered and threatened species of Australian birds.
