A quiet revolution in Church governance may be underway. A new report from the Vatican’s Synodal Office proposes changes to canon law that could expand the role of lay men and women in ecclesial governance. Could this fundamentally alter the hierarchical structure of the Catholic Church?

Raymond Arroyo, Fr. Gerald Murray and Robert Royal examine the proposed canonical changes, the push for lay governance, and a Belgian bishop’s plans to prepare married men for the priesthood.

Plus, Pope Leo’s triumphant visit to France: his call for doctrinal clarity, communion with the successor of Peter, Europe’s Christian identity, immigration, and the surprising signs of Catholic renewal in an increasingly secular nation.
