It’s auction day at Burchard Galleries in St. Petersburg, Florida, and host Jeffrey Burchard invites you into a virtual museum of treasures on the block. Starting at 12 noon at 2522 30th Avenue North, roughly 450 lots from major estates—including the continuing liquidation of collector James Resney’s remarkable holdings—will cross the auction block with no reserves on many pieces. Highlights already drawing heavy interest include a pair of Fulvio Bianconi for Venini art-glass chickens (Lot 7, already at $1,600), a Folio Society illustrated book collection leading the bidding at $1,300 with more than 30 watchers (Lot 1169), a platinum three-stone diamond ring totaling 3.3 carats of VS2 brilliant-cut diamonds appraised at $22,500 (Lot 1209, opening at $8,500), a monumental 74-inch Japanese Satsuma “thousand flowers” vase with gilt foo dogs and dragons (Lot 1219), an H.C. Evans horse-racing gaming wheel with odds counter (Lot 18), a Napoleon III gilt-bronze clock, a Paul Prue stained-glass panel, a 1940s Wurlitzer Model 750 Bubbler jukebox, a six-foot polychrome cigar-store Indian, and much more jewelry, fine art, gaming equipment, and rarities. Preview is open now; catalogs are live on LiveAuctioneers and Invaluable. Call 877-969-8600 to be on the show, text photos to 727-560-5333, or visit burchardgalleries.com. Whether you’re hunting museum-quality pieces or simply love the thrill of the bid, this is the day—raise your paddle and name your price.
