In this episode of Another Bloody Podcast, Share the Dignity Founder Rochelle Courtenay is joined by former NRL player, author and BookTok sensation Luke Bateman to talk about challenging traditional masculinity, embracing vulnerability and why everyone deserves to live with dignity.
Growing up, Luke learned to hide his sensitive side in a world that expected boys to be tough. Now, he believes we can change the story of what it means to be a man and create a safer, healthier world for everyone. He shares why education is essential to becoming a better ally, including when it comes to menstrual equity, and why men have an important role to play in breaking down stigma.
Luke also shares the story behind the It’s in the Bag Mum & Bub Bag he put together with his mum, taking us through the essentials they chose and reading the heartfelt Dear Her note he wrote for the mother who will receive it. Drawing on the impact his own mother’s love has had on his life, Luke offers a moving reminder of how meaningful it can be to help someone feel supported, valued and cared for.
Join us for this thoughtful episode of Another Bloody Podcast as Luke reflects on vulnerability, using your position to lift others up, and how small acts of kindness can help create a more dignified world for all.
