Our country’s problems will never be solved by a bunch of fancy people in nice suits talking big words on CNN and Fox, but by An Army of Normal Folks just deciding “hey, I can help.” Hosted by Coach Bill Courtney from the Oscar-winning Undefeated, this podcast is building the Army and celebrating its extraordinary members. Starting on June 6th, new episodes are released every Tuesday.

Hey, everybody, I'm coach Bill Courtney from the Oscar winning documentary Undefeated. In Memphis, my hometown, there's a number of off ramps off the two point forty Loop that when you're driving by them, they're just not the place you want to pull over and have change a flat tire. And you see the loss and the poverty and the hopelessness and the despair and the disenfranchisement, and you think, gosh, somebody ought to do something about that down there, And you say it, or you think it as if the sentiment matters, as if the thought matters. The thought doesn't matter, It changes nothing, It moves no needle. My suggestion is you tilt the rearview mirror just about fifteen degrees and you look yourself in the eyes and you say, you know, I ought to do something about that down there. This sense that somebody out to fix our prom is part of the problem. Government has proven woefully inadequate in caring for the most disadvantaged among us. And all these fancy people on seeing an inbox using big words that nobody really understands, they're not fixing anything. In fact, they're part of the problem. We need an army of normal folks, just people like me and you saying hey, I can help in my community. It's not government, it's not fancy people on TV. It's just you and me filling a need.

We could change the trajectory of the country. It's almost too obvious, yet we got to take the first steps.

We have a podcast called An Army of Normal Folks. That is what this is about. And our goal is to share stories of normal people doing extraordinary things in and around their communities. And our hope is through telling those stories, you me normal folks will listen and tune in and occasionally find a story or two of something that they say, hey, I can do that, and that we motivate an army of normal folks. Check out our podcast, An Army of Normal Folks, wherever you listen to podcasts.
