What had happened was ....
Tiffany Haddish was supposed to join Amy & T.J. in the studio to talk about her new music. (Yes, THE Tiffany Haddish has a new song, "Woman Up," with Oscar-nominated hitmaker Dianne Warren.) But, the conversation turns into a hilarious and heartfelt free-for-all!
She has some explaining to do regarding her recent White House visit, did she actually "graffiti" the Vice President's desk?
Hey, that folks, get off the victim train you've been on, get your pride back, get your fight on, ditch the pity party. That party is overstarting now in this episode of Amy and TJ, Welcome everybody.
Bro.
If you hear those those words, what comes to mind? Those are lyrics to one of the latest I guess they call them female anthems, empowerment anthems.
I think it's a human anthem.
All right, I got corrected off the top by I guess that We just said to our guests, Hey, we're just gonna do a little something off the top so you can chill and look with you. That we should have known that wasn't gonna go the way we played that shit to go. But yes, those are lyrics to the latest empowerment anthem. We won't call it a female thing or anything else. But you run a lot, you know what you put in? How powerful important something as simple as a song can be when you're going through something or I know a lot of your runs. You like to listen to fight song by Rachel Flatten Sarah burrellis What's the one?
Brave?
Yes, yes, these are really like totally cliche, you know anthem songs, but they work when you're going through something tough emotionally but physically.
Running is always tough.
We ran this morning and I ran to the song you just mentioned, and it gives you a boost in your step. When you start to your thoughts turn into your actions, it turns into everything. So when you have that in your head, it changes your physical it changes your mental.
It makes a huge difference.
Now when I tell again living people those lyrics, right, ditch the pity party. That party is overstarting now and we're going to play some of the songs. But you hear the words initially and they're powerful. And then does it matter where they're coming from. Does it make a difference when you hear a song and they say, oh, it's that artist, Oh, it's that artist.
It does make a difference, especially when they have a story, when they've been there, when they've watched that road, when you know they have been at the lowest of lowest and you can relate to that. Yes, that makes you feel like if she can get up and she can sing this song and she can live a better day, so can I.
So you're saying it's coming from a real place.
It is, and authenticity obviously is to me the most powerful thing you can give some of your fate.
I will survive. Yeah, okay, Beyonce, run the world girls. That was okay, that song Girl on Fire, run to it all the time. Stronger, that's good.
What doesn't kill you makes you stronger, all right.
And here's the only but goody respect by the friend that does it.
Never gets old. Ain't no mountain high enough.
There's so many great songs out there that get you going.
Woman, and the one that I am every woman. Yes, but the song we were talking about Off the Top is coming to us by the artist known.
As Tiffany Hattish.
Yes, just when you laughed off the Top when TJ was talking, I was like, oh, they're gonna already that who it is. It's took me out that your lafe is unmistakable. It's joyful, it's adorable actually, and it's singularly.
Yours, thank you, thank you.
And we're so happy to have you here.
Wait till you meet my sisters.
You can be like, wait, there's three other people with that same last.
There's something about it. I never thought about it the way you just said it ropes that there's something about it that always is kid like, Like it's always We've talked about this the other day on the streets of New York, like all the adults look miserable and the kids are just they just have this joy. I know you have your tough days, and I know people always expect you to be on, but you seem like you are really on and doing well and happy and upbeat a lot of times. How has twenty twenty four been for you?
Twenty twenty four has been real good for me. You know, boo to twenty twenty two and twenty twenty three, Boom.
Twenty twenty three curts my bad, bir.
But twenty twenty four has been good. Twenty twenty four has been good. I've been like accomplishing a lot of the things that I've wanted to accomplish in life. And I mean, I've always been doing that, and I'm always coming up with new goals and new things. But this year has been really exciting because I've been working with all the people I've ever wanted to work with, and like seeing those those things come to like fruition, and like the little girl in me is just so excited about everything, like even though I know it's coming.
To adulta met It's like calm down, calm down. But the little girl is like, we're doing.
It, happenings happening, like calm damn, refs just being it.
This is a good time.
Where where was the music and all of that, the that little girl that wanted to do all this stuff? Where was that always on your list of things you absolutely wanted to do?
That was always like in the top five top five. When I was a kid, I used to be on my tricycle riding around in the backyard and I used to be making up songs and singing all the time, and I would think, this is I got to decide what I'm gonna do when I go on Star Search. Okay, am I gonna do a monologue? Am I gonna tell jokes? Or am I gonna sing? Or am I gonna dance? And I would like perfect those things. I be backyard pretending like you know, this is my day as Star Search, Okay, this is the song I'm gonna.
Say, Ed McMahon, I so remember that show and so fun.
I wanted him to be my grandpa so bad and getting him to just show up to the house of one of them Sweepstake Chicks. They say, Tiffany, you going on Star Search today, and I'm like, yes, I'm ready for it. But I'll be back there singing now. Laters, Come on, baby, give me somep.
There you go. I love it, and I'll be riding my tricycle. Then I stop in the middle and start doing a monologue.
I mean, yeah, that's beyond a triple threat. That's a quadruple threat.
I think, yes, man, break into a dance room.
I love it.
But so much of art, whether it's dancing, singing, comedy, comes from a place a lot of times of paint, like you don't really get to express yourself or relate to people unless you've been through it. And you mentioned twenty two twenty twenty three. We kind of know what those years were like for us as well.
So right with you, right, we.
Missed your shit.
I didn't know you had, right, because when you're going through shit, you're not even thinking about it.
You can't even see people. You can't.
But anyway, was did the song woman up by the way, And we're gonna play a little bit of it in just a second, But did the song come from getting through that?
If you hadn't gone through it, you wouldn't have had the lyrics.
Well, let me tell you, so the song came from Diane Warren. And what had happened was she slid in my DMS in twenty seventeen.
I didn't know.
I ran into her like a year and a half or so later, and she's like, we should work together, and I'm like, yes, we definitely should work together. She's like, you don't check your DMS. I was like, no, cuz picks come through and I don't want to see them. That's like horrible monsters. Like I didn't request that. Like I like those to come through when requested. When they show up unannounced, it's like it's scary. Anyways, it's like a full blown jump scare.
What is that? I hate those? I like them though, I love them, but I just don't want them on solicit it.
Anyways. Anyways, I'm telling her that story. She's laughing, and she's like, we got to get together. I'm like, so my team and her team try to figure out when we could get together. Finally we get together. The first day in the studio, we are just talking about like we don't even work on any songs and anything. We're just talking about what do I want the music that I bring to the table, what do I want it to sound like, what do I want it to be? And I was very very specific about I want it to be something where it's uplifting, where it's encouraging, where it's inspiring, where it doesn't have to be about like shaking ad ass, even though I do like those kind of songs now and then, it don't have to be about like who I'm sleeping with him, I'm sleeping with her, like all that stuff, no like and no guns, no drugs, no nothing, just positivity. And I was telling her how like I fight with myself and I have video footage of this.
I think I should post it.
Have a fight with myself to get out of bed, like I fight, cause my dreams are way better than real life. Like I can control everything in the dreams. I can control everything in my sleep. I cannot control what goes. I can only control me in real life. It's something that attacks be so vicious, is so like and I don't have nobody to lean on all the time, so it's like like and I want to fight. I want to be like how I was back in the you know, late nineteen hundreds, in nineteen ninety nine, the early two thousands, where I just you know, somebody say something, I just roll up and smack the shutter, you know, fight them.
But we don't live in that world no more.
Where you can you know, we they't say what Grandma used to always say, for every action, there's a reaction, watch your mouth because it might make you lose your teeth.
You know you can't do that no more.
But I mean, because I got a certain income level, but let that income fall off, yep, when you have no one, I got a little list. I've been taking boxing classes and I've been hanging out with Dennis.
Wait where do where do you get? Where do you see the negativity? I know you're very active with social media. You know it's hard to not look at stuff sometimes, But what do you not ever try to insulate yourself in some way from it, or you consume it and try to deal with the best you can. You want to be aware? How do you deal with that?
I mostly consume it during my cycle because I have endometriosis, and that's when i'm my craziest. I'm in a lot of pain then, so I try to like call myself escaping, and I go on to social and I'll see things that people say and I will chime in. Now I know that it it's something that look, I'm not perfect.
I'm working on it.
But they obviously said what they said because they wanted some attention. So let me give you some.
And you might not like it, so you clap back.
I do. I clap back.
I give it a little smothering and I and I clid back with the Wow. You know, you must be really sad and depressed. I wish you all the joy that you can handle because you spending your time to talk about this when you have three felony charges and blah blah blah, like you know, because yeah, because hurt people, hurt people, and they try to like point the finger, but if what they fell to realize is we've all had on our ass at some point in time.
We always babies.
We all fall down, we all get up, and we all gonna fall down again.
We're humans. And I'm never you never gonna hear me.
Say I'm perfect, never gonna hear me say that, because I it was I was.
We were looking up just because yeah, we had to catch up because we were in our own death spiral for a couple of years, but I found out we had the same attorney, so we were actually using Andrew Butler.
At the same time for both of ours at the same time. But I was laughing like, oh wow, we have that in common.
And you know, what, did you ever yell at him?
Because I was you yelled at him? Well, I mean, yeah, yelled to him.
I apologize Andrew, but I had to yell at you on that day because.
But it's.
When when you have someone level accusations as serious as they did at you, sex sexual abuse charges that were dropped within weeks. But how like, you can't once that's out there and even though it was completely unwarranted, how do you that mentally? And people have these you know, it's the perception is reality thing versus reality being reality?
Well I know my reality and their perception. See, people perception been messed up about me for all my whole life. So I'm not I'm not necessarily subscribing to that, And those are not the ones I chime in on anyways. It's more it's other stuff I chime in on that right there is not real, so I can't chime in on it, like, I mean, are they I don't know. I'm an actor. I was acting in a role. Okay, I was hired as an actor. I was not the casting director. I was not a producer. Fox didn't give me no money to put on a bunch of sketches and potentially have my own show, like, they.
Didn't give me none of that.
I did what I did. I made the choices I made, and I hope people learn from it. I hope that people don't just leave their kids with any old body. Okay, I don't want to be no rescue ranger, cause that's why I ended up having to be a rescue ranger. Like, I don't want to have to do none of that, and I don't think anybody have to do that. You had your kids, You rescue your kids. You want your kids to work. You gonna sit with your kids and you care your kids work. That's what you should be doing. And I've learned a very valuable lesson.
Would you trust these.
Times are not a real friend, They're not like us.
Have you gotten beyond being controversial because you didn't call yourself that? You said that the White House at one point over years Yeah.
They told me, Yeah, tell me I was controversy. That wasn't even that was like a year ago.
That was recently, Oh that was.
Twenty twenty two, twenty two. She's controversial?
Did you get it? And are you beyond it? Did you ever think you were controversial? Do you want to be controversial? Have you turned the page on that? I don't even know, I mean even know what they need?
What am I? I'm not doing anything on purpose to be controversial.
Okay, if I want to be controversial for real, I would be like but it's like, I'm just living my life. I'm just being a human. And like I got into an argument with somebody not too long ago and they was like, yeah, you this you that you ruined in it. You ruined in a black culture and you did. I'm like, I'm.
Ruin a black culture.
Do you know how many people I put through college? Do you know how many kids I got off the streets and got them housing? And if all those things were true about me, that they say, where are all my victims? Where are my victims? Bring them out? Bring them out? Because I've helped helped a lot of people, and maybe that's victimizing somebody by helping them.
I don't know.
Somebody was saying to me, like, Tiffany, you ruined in your career. You just throwing it down. Then you got arrested. You got arrested for duy. No black women ever get arrested for dys.
I'm like, are you serious?
Like I know a bunch of females that are celebrities that have been arrested that are black for duys, and they're like, no, if you google it, So then I'm googling and it was just me and Josephine Baker and I said, well damn, I said whatever if you get if you google famous black women arrested for the UY, it's me and Josephin Baker. And now you know glo really she tried to jump on the list.
She in there now too, and I'm just like dang.
I'm like dang, you know. And I could have took that negative. I could have been like, oh man, it's just me, only me, but I know that there. I know for a fact that there is more than just me.
But uh, the world cares about me.
That's why I'm I'm the number one picture that people care, they write it, they make money because I make mistakes, just like when I was in foster care. When I was in foster care, every home they put me, every door that I walked in, somebody got a check when I come in. You just know that you're blessed because there's a check coming in some way, shape or form.
You're gonna make some money.
Yeah, I get a picture right everywhere I go.
I don't know if me and God sat and talked about that before I got like, and make sure everywhere I go they make money. I don't know if that was the conversation. I do remember some things from our conversation before I was born. That's not one that I remember, But it seemed like every time I show up, somebody making some money, and a lot of times it ain't me.
Why do you think we got you here?
You well, brothers and my sister y'all both.
Will I'm sure you saw the headlines about Justin Timberlake and his d u y Any advice for him?
Uh?
I know? I care?
How can I advise this white man? What can I What can I say? What can I say to this white man?
Come on?
Now?
What can I say? What can I say?
I don't know how the laws work here in New York but you know from my experience, don't say.
The crazy thing is don't have this right as we sit here, you have not been convicted of it the UI. No, you haven't not correct, not been convened. And one of those cases been thrown out. There was no duy charge at all the part of that and the other one is still floating.
Waiting to go try trying to try to Georgia, Georgia. We don't be in on sundowntown. Y'all be in on sundowntown. I should have had me an Amy in the car with me, like I've known that I gotta.
Try with me. Ain'ty Georgia. But yes, of marijuana and your system, and you are.
Just fine five millig.
And you had just spent the whole well, there was one of We were just spent the whole day helping the homeless.
Yes, yes, yeah, the whole day like five a like it was a long day. It was a long day.
It was a lot.
But yeah, over three thousand people served, Like yeah, I cooked and my family.
Then you know, no one wants to write about that though, but it was kind of crazy.
I was on the news all day the day before serving the homeless and then the next day getting arrested in the same outfit I was. But then the one, the one where I got arrested made that. That was so crazy to me too, because I had been praying to God weeks before, like please give me away to show these studios that I am international, that I'm international, because they were saying, oh, we don't know if she's international, and I was praying to God to like show me a way to make to make that happen. Now, I should have been more specific.
That's sufficity is the key, people, that's suffici. That's sufficity is the key.
I wasn't specific, and so God said, Okay, I'm gonna show you, and maybe the devil heard me praying too, I don't know. But then boo y'all by y'all made me tired, get arrested, do what I got to do, and then when I get home, I'm seeing like when I get home and I turn my phone on, all these text messages and then people are sending me links and there's like I'm on I'm on CBS, ABC, NBC, k t l A, Fox, I'm on I'm on CNN, BBC World News, and after Key News Korea, I said Korea, Krea, ESPN.
I don't even play sports, Like what is going on? Like it's everywhere and I'm just like whoa.
And the first I wanted to be upset, but then there's another part of it, like I'm really they really care about me. I'm really loved because if nobody cared, if I wasn't that important, I wouldn't be sitting on CNN looking all cute, getting the rested, smiling, walking with the police. Who smiles and walks with the handcuffs?
Who's Who's drunk? How drunk are you?
Like?
This is crazy?
I had to tell you. I did see the headlines first, and then I saw the picture, like, wait, that doesn't those two things don't go together.
Notice how there was no mug shot. There was where's my mugshot?
Where's your shot?
I don't know?
Because it was cute and they didn't want to release it was I don't know.
I don't know, maybe I look too beautiful. I don't know shot. I love my mugshot from Georgia. I was like, I need to make cups and that was cute.
I thought it was hell what happened afterwards with the studios? If they're they're showing we're a little hesitanting because she's not international. What has been the impact on your career after the past two years. What do they say to you now when you go into.
Those we love you, Tiffany, Let's see if this works. That's it. Yeah, I know, so movies and all that, and some of them A man, some of them, I'm not.
You don't think it it hurt. It's crazy as they say it helped. I don't want to say it the UI that all that helped, but it didn't hurt.
It probably it probably did. I know it hurt insurance wise. Insurance wise, it hurt insurance wise. It's like, oh, you know, is she But I'm like, hello, I wasn't convicted. She's like, insurance company dropped me. One insurance company dropped me. One insurance company dropped me off of the accusations just because of the accusations, not even like they didn't talk to me about it nothing.
It's like, we're due to accusations.
We're gonna I'm like to somebody accusing me of something with no proof, you're just gonna drop me, Okay. And I kind of want to say they name, but I'm not gonna do it. I ain't gonna play, I ain't gonna make you more money, but you kind of want to, se I kind of want a dog walk them. I'll be one a dog walk so many people.
But I can't do it. But I will do it on stage.
Okay, okay, I will do it at.
The comedy shows, which is a lot of them coming up this year. It took me dot com and check it out.
I mean, and all of this as we can joke about it.
But obviously it was awful. I'm sure terrible to go through all of that over the last few years.
But is that I don't.
Feel like it was awful. It was nowhere near as awful as going down the foster care. Nowhere near as awful as like not having no control over where you wake up and like uh and people doing things to you when you're a kid like you No, no easy. This is this is way better. Like perspective, it's our perspective, like being homeless.
I would I don't know.
I take I take a night in jail over being homeless.
I tell you I wasn't even there for a whole night.
I said, it's three hours, two hours to jail over being homeless, like I take that like, you know, is it.
A true story that they actually have a call button.
In the Beverly Hills.
No, they got a call but in there, like I've been in so many jail cells in my life. And when I saw that call, but and I said, they are funding these police. This is what happens when you get funded. That's a truth stray. I wish I could have took a picture of it.
I'm not lying. There is a call button in that jail cell.
Look, I'm telling you ever, I commit crime only in Beverly, Only in Beverly Hills. While I'll be committing crimes because and I don't even want to commit crime, but if I had to, that's what I'm gonna do it.
Somebody said, I'm gonna beat your.
Ass be meet me off of Beverly. I'm gonna milly wop you in front of the Gucci stool. Let's go, like that's what.
It's gonna be.
I'm not gonna fight you nowhere else but in Beverly Hills because I'm gonna go to jail.
No. I did not make that up.
And I pushed that button and it actually worked. I was just like mind blown. I was like, see, this might be, this might be why I need to move cause you know, I don't know you ever, you ain't you have did you see a call button?
I did not. And then when you want the police attention.
You got to be yelling out office side bother side, and you got to say somebody dead or there's a answer here, like yeah.
It's yeah, it's a surreal experience.
Yeah, I was in Georgia, so yeah, Georgia. I don't know.
They din't even put me in a jail telling Georgia. They was too busy trying to get me to take selfies.
Okay, and.
The dude that was doing it, Oh this is crazy. TMZ gonna go.
Wow about this?
Did you take selfiees?
No?
I wouldn't take them.
I said, if I got to take a monk shot, I'm not taking those selfies and I wouldn't take them. They was like, come on, come on, calm, like, nah, y'all already making that you're trying to get followers off of me. You already making money. Oh you're already making money just because I'm standing here.
I guess that makes sense, but still that shocking and.
And why y'all ain't got no female officers and street city. Why I gotta get felt up by a man?
Wow, that's her and that's that One's the one that's still going on. It's been the year and a half. I know, you do you know when it's going to be resolved.
I don't know, man, I don't know.
Okay, let's we're gonna go.
I got a trial day though. I think it's in Uh.
I believe in July.
Okay, that's no, no, no, no, no.
In September.
It's been in a while, right, yeah, it's been over to years.
I don't think so.
I don't think so, because they had already took my fingerprints, so, I mean they as soon as I walked in there, they was asking for something.
I was like, why, I.
Guess you made it. Police want you.
I'm like, dang it.
I used to sleep with so many police when I was younger. They wanted pictures then too.
You know, that's a nice transition, uh to dating kind of sort of. But when you walked in, when I first saw you, came across, greeted you. You got this great everybody can't see a great white dress. And then my first start I said, why they know you're coming in here as a bride. You're ready, And you said, yep, I'm ready to get married. I'm trying to get me say I might find me a hub.
Actually, I love what you said about this. You said you don't want a wedding.
I'm just sorry you don't want a marriage, but you do want a wedding and you want a partner, and you want a relationship and a party.
You just don't want the license.
No, no marriage license.
No.
I want us to be in a trust fund. I think that's the best way to go about it. Like if we both build a trust right already, because that's what relationships are based off of.
How much do I trust you? How much do you trust me? What do you do for me? What do I do for you? And we do a.
Trust fund, and we put all the rules right, and we could change the rules whenever we want to. We can be like, hey, okay, you get one once a year, I get one once a year. You do this, like you can go on trips without me, I can go. Whatever the rules are, you can put it in there, and then we both get power of attorney over each other, and then like we buy our we buy our house together or whatever, put put a property in there, and then we could stay in that house, we could stay in another house. We could rent the house up, and that could be our income coming in. Because a marriage is about from what I understand from the way I was taught, marriage is two families coming together for survival. You are building a business, you are building you are building awesome human beings if you have babies, and you are supporting each other, looking out for each other. It's like two companies merging, like Green Burrito and KFC.
If they merged, they gotta you know, they support each other.
And yeah, we do two different things, but we are growing together, right, So I don't want the government involved in my mind. I've been married before, much like you guys have, and I didn't like it. Okay, and I.
Did it twice with the same person. I didn't like it. I didn't like it.
I felt like, you know, he was trying to control me or whatever. Would I wrote about it in my first book anyway, But I do want a partner. I do want to share this success with somebody. I do want to grow with somebody. I don't necessarily think I'm a because this s Gouy told me that a couple of guys told me that I'm not submissive enough. I'm not submitted, but I think if you like, if all my clothes are off, I'm doing what he tells.
Me to do. So I mean that's submissive to me.
But apparently that's not the type of submissive. Yeah, submissive, What does that mean?
Sir?
We had someone in here not too long ago saying that women need to be more what more, they're feminine, not.
To be so right.
We have a she was a matchmaker, and she said men like women. She didn't say submit, but that is ultimately what she was saying, to be in their feminine zone so that they like to be taken care of. And you need to take off your your boss lady persona that can exist in the boardroom or in you know, your work, but when you come home, you need to be in your feminine.
Zone because the guy likes for the woman to be soft and be needed and to be that kind of thing.
My skin is soft, and I cry, uh huh, I get emotional.
But guys want that thing though, something that you've dated seem to want you to be a softer Fine, whatever, I'm very soft.
I'm very feminine. I wear skirts, I mean, but I guess I get dirty. I do be in the garden, like gardening, pulling.
Wheels and stuff.
But I will put I will also, like yesterday, I'll fix my own garbage disposal. And I have installed my own bidet okay not not not the bdet like where you gotta conker the floor and all that stuff, the kind that you plug in the wall and then you just attach you But I did that and yet and that dude, he was like, you just doing too much. I told you I would do it. I'm like, but this thing been sitting against the wall for five weeks. Five weeks has been sitting up against the wall. You still haven't put it in. I want the water to splash on my bootyhole. So I'm gonna go ahead and do what I got to do. And when I tell you, he was mad at me, he was very mad. But yeah, I want, that's what I want. We do a trust. We do power of attornity. We could change our names if we want to, or don't change our names, but we are I think a trust is stronger than in an actual marriage license we've had.
You can put your kids.
In there, and then the kids always make money. You can add your friends whoever.
You wanted to trust.
We've had this conversation plenty, and I would I am more in your camp about the idea. We've both been married twice. Hell, everybody's it's six there we go, right, Yeah, we're dealing with something. So the room we got, I'm just checking. Okay, Okay, they're.
Young, give them time, but don't do it.
Get it trust, do the trust, and then when y'all don't work out, you could just dissolve the trust, sell all the property, split the money.
Bam, that's it. You don't have to have lawyers all up.
And you said, get one lawyer for the trust, and like, you don't have to be doing all this extra stuff.
What do you what do you call him? Will he be your partner? Your husband?
He's gonna be my husband. He's still gonna be my husband a man. Yeah, gonna be my husband. He's supposed to cultivate and protect and lead the way. And I want him to be a leader. But if you eat me in the wrong direction, I'm gonna say something I love that I'm not.
Gonna say it.
I mean, I'm be like baby I don't think this is the right way. Let's look at the map one more time. I'm gonna break out the Thomas Scott. I know you got the map quest and every ting. I'm gonna brek out Thomas Gott because I feel like we want a wrong way.
How do you date as a famous person? How do you How difficult is it to do?
You have to It's easy to date.
But but the next line of that is it's difficult to what. It's easy to date but a date.
But it's difficult to figure out what they really want. What's the true intention? Like is it just to like be able to say, oh I went out on a date with Tiffany Hattish, Or is it like, oh I smashed Tiffany Hattish? Or do you want to build something with me?
Like? And then why do you want to build something with me?
And usually by the fifth or sixth day you can really figure out what what the real intention is. But you keep your legs closed. No, No, I might let him kiss my boody, but I'm gonna keep my legs close.
Yeah, are you are you still read?
Yeah, I'm celibate.
I'm celibate, but I'll be thinking about stuff what you've been thinking. I'll be thinking about all kind of stuff. You know, I got power tools. It's cool, keep the skin nice?
Is that that's a choice more so having to do with finding the right person before you give your body to somebody else.
Yeah.
Yeah, because I feel like I done did that too much. And also it's like and it's always you get blinded, right and you can't see the person for who they really are. That's why like love relationships where people are like we were friends first, we got to know each other as friends, and then it was like, right, like, I really haven't done that.
I really I'd be like, I see a dude, I like him. I'd be like, do you like me? Listen? Get it in, come on, man up, even man of that.
But no, I think that's really cool because he and I both had the same experience where we had never yet as an adult, if you like somebody, you go for it. And to have been in a friendship with him for almost a decade before we actually realized we had other feelings and we're in a situation where we could act on them, it was a It's been a remarkable experience. I highly recommend it. It's you've got that foundation of friendship. It just is a game changer. It's not just about sex, right, I had nothing to do with it at the beginning.
And then sex gets born after so long to the same person, you'd be like, damn, it's been a year.
It feels like fifty.
Do you think it's got no moves?
Let me show you something. Now I'm doing too much.
Oh now I'm being aggressive. Let me draw a map for you. Were what I like because I had a dream about it. If you did this, this would be good. Oh now I'm doing too much. Or now I'm being too masculine because I'm saying, hey, this is how I would.
Like it if we try this new thing. Oh now I'm doing too much. Okay, all right, then I'm about to cheat on your ass.
To date someone who so is the celebrity?
Or would you?
I mean, do you have a feeling about whether it be better to be with someone who isn't?
I don't know.
I haven't dated many celebrities, right, I haven't. I haven't really dibbl edabbled in that in that realm I like, I like, you know.
Blue collar workers by kind of.
You know business on small business owner is what I prefer small business business owner, the first small business owner.
Uh, celebrity. Yeah. From the experience I had, I'm just like, yeahs nice. Worst thing.
I don't know, never really done it besides the pandemic. So I don't know what it's like to be in public or be whatever, But it seems like it would be better to keep it with a regular human being. That's who are regular human being stuff. But celebrities are regular human beings too. It's just those male egos are big.
Yeah.
Yeah, and I got endometriosis. I prefers medium.
The women have their hands and because they.
Know what I'm talking about.
But how are you talking about getting to a date? Five? How do you get the guy, a small business owner get to date one with a Tiffany Hattis. I mean, how do you go through and figure out, okay, he's worthy of a day, he's worthy to even get to that point. Where do you meet people?
I mean people all over the place. At grocery store, met the dude at the library, be meeting at the Beach Comedy Club, Young Dang, the dude out here. I met him at the comic club. He asked for my number while I was on stage. And I said, give me your number, and then he gave me his number, and then I called him after the show. And we've been we've been friends for four or five years. Yeah, and we done went on a few days.
He wanted.
He keep telling me he want to marry me, but I just I don't feel like he don't know how to behave himself.
But he ain't got the trust Fund speech yet.
He hasn't he got the trust Fund speech. And he was with you because I was like, if you were, because he was saying he want to marry me, But I don't even know, like what he's working with you know what I'm saying, I don't even know what he worked with me.
He's just my friend. He's just my friend because.
But yeah, but he do real estate and stuff too, so that I know he understands. And I was saying, I think on an interview a long time ago, I'm like, if somebody want to marry me, they need to give me an apartment building, which I would like that if we're gonna say we're married, we together, I think we should get some sort of real estate together, something real together that could be income for us, and that way we if you lose your job, I lose my job. We still have this thing that's feeding us and nurturing us, this property. And so he was like, I'm a buyer, I'm a bio. Uh what are you say? I'm gonna by a Brownstone? And then and then what to Fanian said? And then I have to expect it to see if it's worth if it's worth it, And then if you put my name on the deed, I don't care if it's if it's worth it or not. We gonna make something work if you put my name on the deed. And he was like, are you serious or you don't like it? Put my name on the deed. Then we together, and then I'm a bus down on it.
Okay, but this dude's a real possibility. He's a he's in the mix. You're dating somebody.
I mean, we ain't ever re spec I ain't spent the night at his house or nothing like that.
He ain't seen me naked. No, he has not.
I seen the weird follow up. I just asked, but.
He has or he has not? He has not.
He is a friend that once he's like my Steve Verkle if you will white.
Do you have like a time in your mind, a time when where you want to be with someone by this time in my life.
No, no, no, I've been with so many already, he said. I'm just enjoying myself. We have fun adventures, like I go out with, like, yeah, four different dudes, and I've told all of them, like, I'm dating multiple peoples and we have fun. One of them, two of them I travel with, We go places, we share a room, nothing goes down because I'm like on some like Noah. But one of them, I've been trying to get something to go down. But I'm not sure if he's in the women or not. But we gonna figure that out.
We don't figure either way. I'm having a good time. I'm having a good time.
This is important. How long have you been knowing this guy.
Since I was fourteen?
You haven't figured it out yet?
He said he's straight, but I don't know. Now he's seen me naked and done walked around but naked out.
Okay, then you don't think he's straight. You just walk around naked in front of your male friend, right.
I was trying to see what was popping there? You test? It wasn't no test. I was trying to.
Give it up.
Okay, this was like two three years ago. I was trying to give up the goodies. He was like, tifing me go to sleep.
Calm damn, Like, go to sleep, me to rest, like you care about me.
Take your clothes off too, Take your clothes off too.
Then you can really show me how much you care.
Let me hold you on my inside your eyes.
I just oh, yeah.
I could give you. I can. I can show you submissive. I'm gonna hold you with my inside.
Oh my god. Any more music? Do you got the song out? It's amazing. Any more music? An album coming?
Yes, there's more music coming.
And I'm trying to decide do I want to drop like a full on EP or do I just want to just keep dropping a single like every few months or so? Uh?
There's enough.
I mean, it's like thirteen songs total, so there's enough to be like dropping constantly.
But I think I don't know. I'm just trying to decide. I don't know. What do you think I should do?
Oh? I mean I think you should just keep dropping them, just.
Keep dropping the individual singles.
Right, Yeah, I like that updates of the music, yeah, and then.
Yeah, and then I don't have to stick to one genre, all right.
It's multiple genres. Genres, yes, multiple genre.
We got we got the pop, yeah right, we got the hip hop, we got the hardcore rap, you got that trap music.
You gotta got a little country. I might not drop that song though, I don't know.
I ain't let nobody really listen to that one. I got another one about about pretty good. It's called Pretty Girls Take Poops. It's a comedy song. I think it's so dope and it's so funny, but then at the same time it's kind of gross and it's a little cringe.
So I don't know. Pretty Girl, Pretty Girls Take Poops too?
Okay, we have got you can't We have to hear that song now, I mean at some point. But that's too that's too good.
It's really good, and it's about it. It's an encouraging song, and it's about how do you stay beautiful?
It is. It's an encouraging song about how you stay.
Beautiful, how you keep your health up. Why you might be cranky and angry and in bad mood, and why people might not want to be around you. It's probably because you need to go take a poop.
You foolish can you give us the chorus.
Pretty girls take poops too?
We did.
It was the chorus.
That's fine, but that's you can't tease us with something that good.
God, I love it.
I love it.
Was the plan always to do multiple genres with Diana, and.
I always always wanted to do multiple genres, always wanted to create, like all types of music I would love to do like I got, I got one heavy metal song, but it's not it's not it's not where it needs to be.
Yeah, I'm like, yeah, like you, you don't have to play that one yet.
Yeah, but the.
Lyrically, now my mouth.
Look at you looking at this like it's the genter table, a baddy boot boodie straight out of a good fable.
I bet you like it all and proper.
With my big I ain't a proper.
I have the secret that nobody knows except the ladies with the skin tight pen in house, it's on peaches a green until we powdered the nose because in the bathroom it's where we met on inside by joints.
You've got that. That that's a hell of an anthem as well too.
Yeah, that's how you're gonna stay up. Oh, my how did and it goes on? This is like a four minute song.
That's so fun. I would run to that.
I was thinking.
I was thinking with that one so because I want all my songs to end up in movies and TV shows and commercials and like for products and all this stuff.
So I was thinking for.
That one, I would actually shoot it as a short film and show like the whole thing, like the music is going and like you see it all happen, and it'd be four minutes.
Damn, submitted to the Oscars. Let's see what's that? I love it? I love it.
How did Diane Warren? Why did she? You said she was dm U?
Yeah, she slid in my DN.
Why did she want to work music? I mean, you're a huge media and actor, But why is it that she saw something and wanted to work with your music wise?
Well, I think she wanted to work with me music wise because I sing good, yeah, yeah, yeah yeah, Grammy Award winner for my comedy album and in both of my specials. I created the music for both of those specials. So like the last one, Black Mental Viz sang Havingniguila and then I added like a hip hop spin to it. And the first one I did, from the Hoods of Hollywood, I wrote like a whole rap song and I have some of my friends help me put it together. But we did a whole rap song where I'm like, yeah, from the hoods of Hollywood here I am blah blah blah. And so she heard that and then she like, you know, and she seen me in a few movies and she's like, she just loved the tone of my voice, just speaking voice too. She thought that that was really good and that I could pull it off. And I was like happy that she believed in me and was like, let's do this. But I feel like Diane warren Snoop Dogg, Little Wine, bust A rhymes like these are e forty Like these are people that been believing in me for a long time as far as music goes, and been making music with me. And I'm like so grateful because these are all people I look up to, Like Diane Warning. I've been dancing to her song since.
I was born. Can you fit Me?
Like she makes those earworm songs.
To shug in your head like her, I'm so grateful for it.
Well, I'm so excited you're jumping in and we all get to listen to all of your incredible creations because that that's just a little bit of and it's different. It's not like everyone else's music. That's what's so cool about it. And I wanted to say we we were talking about all the lows and the have you had your.
Highest high yet?
Like?
What what has been the moment where you think you thought yourself, I've made it? This is it? This is as good as it gets.
Every time I think that, then like two months later it's something even better.
That's awesome.
So I just, you know, just keep thinking that every day. Every time I go take a poop on my own, I'm like, look.
At your girl, you are pooping in the Hawaii House.
You don't get better than it probably does.
Let's hope.
Go ahead, ass, go ahead.
As I think, I keep thinking, you just joking when you tell some of the stories, I see, Did you really sign your name on that desk at the White House?
Naha?
Okay, well wait you're making faces like maybe you did? You didn't you did?
Did?
She?
I can't tell. I don't know.
Why where do you think it's gonna happen if they see it?
I don't know. I don't think you think.
They think they're gonna arrest me?
Or do you think I'm gonna have to become the vice president of the United States of America.
I couldn't tell if you were seriously not on that story, but you're saying.
No, Yeah, I feel like I should say no, just get it, not not get put in jail for graffiti.
That'll be the next thing Tiffany had is doing graffiti at the White House. There, that's why our ass gets sitting in the White House jail. But the White House jail is nice, but will it'll.
Be a DC jail.
You don't think they got a jail at the White House?
No, I think it's DC.
You sure they don't got a jail at the White House?
You trying to get arrested?
I could have sworn, I see it's something looked like it might be having a jail still there.
It's possible.
You don't think South.
I don't think so.
You sure like it might have a dungeon. You think I get put in the dungeon at the White House. They gotta have a dungeon at the White House.
We saw you recently and we just saw bad boys.
For Oh, did you have fun.
Oh we had flash, but you show up and steal the show in a way. That's pretty incredible.
We know what's crazy is Will Smith called me that I have been campaigning to get on this in this movie.
And I didn't really bother Will with it.
I was bothering like the producers and the director, like the people that do the hiring. That's why I was bothering. And then Will calls me out of nowhere. It's like, Tiffany, we got a role for you in Bad Boys for do you want to do?
I was like yes.
He was like, let me tell you what the role is. I said, yeah, tell me what the role is. So he starts explaining to me and he starts saying what I said in the in the movie, and I.
Clutched my pearls so hard. I said, oh, oh, Will, I was and I was lapping. He was like, you cool with that? Can you say it? I said, I'm cool with that. I just don't know how I feel about.
Hearing you say that, like to hear you cuss, to hear you say stuff like that, I don't know how that makes me. It makes me uncomfortable. And he was like, wow, it cause you are the Fresh Brands, clean cut, you know, cuss.
It was like, Tiffany, I cussed.
I'm like, I know I've been around you cussing, but I'm just this is weird to hear you say that. And then and then he was like to hear me say what I said?
What you just said? And then he did the line I did it again and I was like, yeah, yeah that, I said.
You know what, I'm gonna say it, and I might put a little spin on it and like clean it up so it could be on TV. Maybe we give you some takes so you can put it on TV. But he was like, no, we want you to say it. We want you to.
Say it say.
I was like, okay, and I'm gonna ask some extra stuff to it. He was like, you can add whatever you want to and I added a whole lot.
Well, it was memorable, Thank you, very very memorable.
But to hear will Smith say that was crazy?
To me, that was that was crazy. Yes, what's next for you? I know you talked about dates of your comedy show. You got music, and then more music is going to be coming. Yeah, I got books only a couple.
Of months, but not even a couple not even a couple of not even.
Just a month, Yeah, a little over a month. It has been out.
Seems like a huge year for you and it's just halfway through.
Yeah, you know, and I'm not even sleepy yet. That's a lie. No I got.
I'm going to Africa and I'm gonna shoot some I'm shooting TV show over there. Then there's gonna be a couple more movies that come out, and then hopefully, hopefully by the time I come back from Africa, I got like diplomatic community in like five Afrobeat songs, and then yeah, I'll drop probably drop another song in September or October, and then uh you know. Then then there's a comedy tour. I'm going to Europe. Want to do comedy in Europe. That should be interesting.
Where are you going in Europe?
Germany? Uh? Uh, Berlin.
I think I'm going to Amsterdam, London for sure. I'm trying to get to Croatia. I'm gonna be in Italy. I might get pregnant in Italy. You know, they say they go down in Italy. I watched that documentary about the Black women in Italy. That's where you that's where they love you. They worship you in Italy, the men and they worship the women. It's what I understand. I mean, I've been there before and I'm just gonna say that I enjoyed myself.
When's the show in Italy?
It's on my website. I don't know off the top of my head.
Might be in town, you might be in Italy.
There's gonna be in November. I believe it's November. Octoby November as a European pushing Octoby November.
Yeah. If you if you know any handsome men being in the trust.
But you're dating already, you're you're dating several people in fact.
Yeah, but nobody's locked in, man, nobody's locked it. Nobody's got the hood from the inside.
Wait, so I know we're gonna run.
I'm not in a committee relationship with any of the there, it is none of them.
I'm paying my mortgage, that's the other thing. Who's paying a mortgage? Wait? No, I don't even have mortgage.
I'm wearing. I gotta stop saying mortgage. Who's paying the property?
Tech?
Isn't it nice to get out of that, to not have a mortgage, to be out of that? Yeah? You made it girl, Yeah, yeah, you made.
Fourteen properties later.
I love it.
Yeah, amazing.
Yeah.
Every time I do a movie by buy a smart piece property.
It's like Monopoly day.
Yeah.
And I'm housing a bunch of foster youth and getting ready to open the grocery store.
So whoever I get with is.
Gonna have to be okay with me doing big things in the community.
Is that what you're most proud of? I was called I'll only use a name because she did it on cameras, not name drop we halle Berry. When I started an interview with her, I mentioned I was like, yeah, you're Oscar winner, known as iconically beautiful. Before I could get anything else, she stopped me. It's like, why are you going there? I'm a mother, you know, I'm a mom. You know I'm so proud of be She went, She just went into this thing about we always see sometimes people as this thing or something other than a human being than a mom or sister. What is the thing you talk about? Your your charitable work a lot, But what is the thing for its family? Where that's that work, where that's the movie work. What is it you're most proud of?
My garden, the garden I'm proud of the food that I grow and how I'm able to share it. I'm proud of my ability to teach others how to do the same thing, if not better. I'm super proud of all the kids that we work with with the Foundation, and like the kids that I work with even before the Foundation that are now adults that are doing amazing things.
I'm like one girl, she was a game backer.
She's now in equestrian like you know, like to see that like that, like it makes it makes me emotional, Like I don't have kids on my own, but I know that I've helped raise a lot of kids and they're doing amazing things. Doctors, catering services, like, they're doing so much cool stuff. Land owners They've saw how I did it. I told them what they should do. Listen, now they owning property. Like it to me, That's what I'm most proud of. Like my my immediate relationships, and I get very emotional about them because I know like how hard it is to be a part of that system and feeling like nobody cares about you and and and to be able to care for them and give them like the guidance they need and I'm not holding their hand I'm just you know, showing up here and there and being there. They call me, I'm there for them. But like, I think that's the thing I'm most proud of, Like helping to create productive, awesome humans, Like being a part of a good thing is Yeah, I think that's what I'm most proud of. And that I could dance better than you and challenge I'm sorry I got to do that clients.
I have to add because I am such a fan of a lot of comedians, would study comedians when I was a kid and watch I wasn't supposed to watch Eddie Murphy Robber, watch it over and over. But you all are on this same amount rushmore if people throw that around, but you all were just some of the grades. So you're in that category. But I didn't like and it hurting, It sucks, and it was all the controversy, the whole thing with Kat Williams. Can anything? Would you I'm not gonna get too deep into it, but have you talked? Would you talk? And is there any way that that relationship? But we could ever see you all do something together to where we're past all this. I talked to Cat since all that.
Yeah, I talked to Cat. Cat is cool, God is cool.
He's a genius, marketing genius as far as I'm marketing genius, as far as I'm concerned. And people, if I've if I have learned nothing in this business, I've learned that people graduvitate to the negative.
They run to it.
If you want to sell out a show, to put some negative stuff out there, and they will come running. They like to see a fight. They like to see a fight. I'm not gonna fight with you. I'm gonna do like Pitty Pat like okay here, like I'm not gonna fight with Kat like I look up to that man.
I love him.
I respect him as a I don't okay, maybe take me take love back. I like him a lot and I respect him. I respect him more than I respect a lot of people out here, because I know what struggles he went through. I know what he's been through to get to where he's at. I don't know about these three thousand books that he read, but I do know. I do know that he's done a lot of shows and that it's not easy to be a comedian. It's hard. I personally like when he first talked mess about me the first time back in twenty eighteen.
He called me immediately when he left the Rays.
I talked to him immediately, and he apologized, and he was like, I know I threw you under the bus, but I didn't like that lady, and it seemed like she really liked you, and I wanted to hurt her, and blah blah blah. I'm like, yeah, well you need to publicly apologize, you know. He at the Emmys. At the mes he got down on one knee and TI I apologize and like, you know, bowed down at my feet and said you the queen and all this stuff, and we took some pictures. But I don't think that was a public apology. That wasn't That wasn't the same. And then you know, he let to bring like here's the thing. You bring up, Tiffany Hottish, you're gonna get clicks. Like he said my name in that interview, which club show show?
He said my name.
He didn't really say what I did or didn't do, but he said, oh she everybody knows she wasn't at what you call it, but she wasn't at the comedy store. You know, there wasn't no lines around the corner of her yet and I said that in the documentary. I used to go sneak into the show and watch the show. I wasn't allowed to be in there. I was a miner and they would put me out. But why didn't Kat tell about how he used to put me out the casino. I used to sneak into his shows too, and he would put me out because I wasn't supposed to be in there. I was a minor. They would put me out so I didn't get to perform, but I eventually I did. Eventually later on I did, and like, but he didn't say it to me. He didn't say nothing bad about me wow to me.
He didn't say nothing that I hate to hear because we were the public perceptions that are our favorite comedians are out there battling each other. They hate each other.
And I sent him a script just before before that I went down. I sent him a script. He's like, Okay, this need to be changed, that need to be changing all right, back back back.
It's all marketing and promotion.
But I would never do that to him. And if I'm doing it to him right now, I apologize because that's not my intention. I really love his comedy. I think he's dope. He's very very talented, and he's a genius. And when I have conversations with him, I feel like I grow a little bit as an individual. But I'm not finish sit out here in bashlist man, and I don't think he's bashing me. And he did that one time though, But other than that, ye, I mean he apologized. I'm over, I'm making money, I got, I got multiple.
Homes fourteen And I love what you said.
I mean it is you get to a point where you've gotten too enough success, you've done enough amazing things where people then want to make money off of you, no matter.
If it's a selfie in a police station or if it's.
A photographer of oparazzi coming after you or a fellow comedian. I mean it.
It's exhausting, but you're winning still. Look at you.
Yeah, And I don't mind taking pictures. I used to like taking pictures as a kid. I'll take some pictures now. But if I'm in a bad mood or if I'm not feeling like it, I'm gonna be I'm gonna gracefully say no, not today, not now. Let's look at each other's eyes and make a memory.
Where are we today? Are you going to be you're in the eye looking into the eye mood? Or can we take a picture with you?
We could definitely take We can definitely take a picture. I'd rather take a picture with her because you kind of I feel like you throw it off a little ugly. But yeah, you gotta tell these men they.
Ugly keeps you keep the men humble. You're like, look at your ugly.
What you can see that confidence level. You'll know what they think of themselves immediately. They'll either acknowledge it and laugh or they don't acknowledge it at all, which is like, you couldn't be possibly talking about me, but.
You didn't acknowledge it.
You didn't acknowledge it at all, Which lets me know that he he knows, he not know, he see himself. He like, look at you. You probably be in the middle in the mirror talking to yourself. T J.
You are handsome. I'm the stellar guy. Look at those eyes. I like your new mold right there. That you there, that's hot. You're a good man. You're winning out here. You protect Look at you. Look at those shoulders. Look at that gate, J. Your gate is crazy, Like I'm sure you'd be doing that that smile. Look at how pink your gums are. Your beautiful.
I hate to be predictable. I hate to be predictable.
So I love this little vein that come in your forehead every time you smile.
Okay, okay, back the cat, we can.
You gotta do that for yourself though, you know that's important to do that for yourself. You can't expect it from nobody else if you don't do it for yourself.
And why you crying? Because I see you it's tearing up.
What is that is that you know me other than anybody? Is that of my my eyes watering?
