As promised, New Jersey Congressman Tom Kean Jr. delivered a speech on the House floor to explain missing 140 votes and 4 months of work. Kean said he was diagnosed with depression and upon advice of his doctors, he remained in the hospital for treatment to battle the disease. And while most were sympathetic and wished him well, many also took issue with his message which they say was tone-deaf and wreaked of privilege.
