Ohio officials say it took them more than two hours to find the person who called 9-1-1, then hung up, around 4 am on Wednesday morning. Dispatchers called back several times, and finally got a one word response: “help.” But by the time police tracked down the location of the phone, they were too late, discovering the bodies of grandparents 67-year-old Gale Sanders and 51-year-old Melissa Campbell along with their grandson, 22-month-old Kozzar Lotut. They had all been shot dead, and police believe it was at the hands of one of the grandparents. This latest tragedy comes in a year that has seen a dramatic uptick in familicides, and a recent string of headlines involving accused elderly murderers.

President Donald Trump has called for a boycott of the WNBA over players skipping the pregame national anthem, and accused LeBron James of disrespecting the country for stretching during the anthem at the Knicks’ game this week. But is there another explanation other than these athletes are “protesting” or “disrespecting” the United States Of America? The answer is a HARD yes.

Not only has Trump defended a controversial ad by Ohio gubernatorial candidate Vivek Ramaswamy featuring the estranged mother of Amy Acton, he said Ramaswamy should “look upstairs and say: ‘Thank you, God, very much. I appreciate it.” The ad shows Acton’s birth mother call her own daughter a liar, urging voters not to elect her to office. However, there is no mention of the appalling backstory: Acton’s stepfather, Cledith Arthur, was charged with raping her when she was a child while married to Acton’s mother, who chose to remain with her husband, fleeing the state to avoid charges. Several prominent Republicans have condemned the ad, urging Ramaswamy, who is behind in the polls, to take it down, including the current Republican Governor Mike DeWine.
