It’s day one of testimony in the Lindsay Clancy triple murder trial, the 35-year-old mother who strangled her three young children, but blames postpartum psychosis for the killings. The first witness was Clancy’s ex-husband Patrick, also father to 5-year-old Clara, 3-year-old Dawson and 8-month-old Callan. Patrick Clancy described his wife’s declining and confusing mental state in the days leading up to his children’s deaths. He’s expected to testify for both the prosecution and defense, and has publicly defended his ex-wife, saying she is not a monster, she was just ill.
