On Sunday, actress Kate Beckinsale posted a black square, with the word “Bye” on her instagram feed and then put on her stories, a picture of a rainbow with the caption, “Congratulations, you win, I give up.” Beckinsale ultimately deleted both posts, but changed the link under her bio to a 2020 BBC article describing the suicide death of a British television host after online hate. Fans understandably are concerned, many asking for a wellness check after hearing nothing from her or her reps following the cryptic posts.
