In a press conference following an emergency hearing called by the attorneys of Christa Pike, we learned more details about how and when Pike regained consciousness. Her attorneys say they believed Pike was brain dead Monday evening and was going to be taken off life support Tuesday, when she suddenly woke up and asked, “Where am I? And who are you?” To the medical staff. A judge ruled in favor of Pike’s attorneys, ordering the state to preserve ANY and ALL evidence surrounding the botched execution.
