Before Alma Cooper heads to Mexico City to compete for Miss Universe, the first Afro-Latina Miss USA crown holder hit the streets of Chicago for a 26.2 mile run of the city.

Amy & T.J. had the chance to send her off for her first marathon by sharing their words of wisdom as she opened up about what she learned during training, who she’s leaned on for support and how this experience made her get uncomfortable.
