American Mamas - Seeking Approval

Fake News from CNN

Fake News Friday

Bus Saver

You’re listening to American Ground Radio with Louis R. Avallone and Stephen Parr. This is the full show for October 23, 2026.

We open the show five years after January 6th, with a federal judge ordering the CIA to begin producing records related to that day by November 16th. We dig into what questions remain unanswered, including the FBI’s undercover presence in the crowd, the defendants’ lack of access to video evidence, and newly surfaced Judicial Watch records referencing CIA personnel assisting in Washington. We also stress the difference between asking questions and jumping to conclusions.

In the Top 3 Things You Need to Know, two former FBI agents are arrested and charged with lying to Congress over their testimony about the Hunter Biden laptop. First Lady Melania Trump announces a humanitarian ceasefire around the city of Oleshky in Ukraine to allow civilians to be evacuated. And the Fifth Circuit rules that people in the country illegally do not have a constitutional right to a bond hearing, a decision that could be headed to the Supreme Court.

Next, we look at a New York Post report on Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez’s campaign spending on hotels, and what it says about “tax the rich” politics. Then our American Mamas, Teri Netterville and Kimberly Burleson, join us to answer the question: when you were a teenager, whose approval meant the most to you? The answers about honest dads, encouraging cheerleaders, and trusted sisters get us talking about why we all need both encouragement and truth in our lives.

In Digging Deep, we play a clip of New York City Mayor Mamdani’s Spanish-language video on what to do when immigration agents show up, and we discuss where explaining constitutional rights ends and political activism begins. Then it’s Fake News Friday, where we break down a CNN story on weather satellites and the claim that it got the facts backward, then play our “real news, fake news, or really fake news” game, with headlines about Macron, Los Angeles County voter rolls, Glasgow’s mummies, lizard-poop-sniffing dogs, and more. Along the way, we also react to James Carville’s promise that Democrats will investigate Donald Trump if they win Congress.

We also talk about Paris museums, including the Louvre, closing over fears of rioting, and what that says about public safety. After a Moment of Whoa, we end with a Bright Spot: a St. Paul man who jumped aboard a school bus when the driver had a seizure and brought it to a safe stop, protecting all 18 children on board.
