You’re listening to American Ground Radio with Louis R. Avallone and Stephen Parr. This is the full show for November 2, 2026.

With the midterms almost here, we open by asking how you fix an election after the fact if a court finds that illegally cast ballots have already been mixed in with legitimate ones. We look at the Supreme Court’s decision not to intervene in a dispute over roughly 20,000 California registrations that the Department of Justice flagged as possible non-citizens. We walk through what the Justice Department is and isn’t asking for, what the Court has and hasn’t decided, and why we think the “set them aside, don’t throw them out” approach deserves serious attention.

In the Top 3 Things You Need to Know, we cover the political standoff in Poland, where Prime Minister Donald Tusk ordered police to surround the Constitutional Tribunal while President Karol Nawrocki was abroad. We also cover Michigan Congresswoman Haley Stevens endorsing Republican Mike Rogers after her Democratic Senate primary loss to Abdul El-Sayed, and the Michigan Democratic Party’s response. Finally, we send our best wishes to Senator Chris Murphy, who suffered a stroke over the weekend and is expected to make a full recovery.

Next, we look at a YouGov poll showing 38% of Democrats say socialism is a better system than capitalism. We ask whether people understand what they’re saying yes to, and what questions about cost, financing, and failure should come before any big government promise.

In American Mamas, Teri Netterville joins us to take on the question: should preachers get involved in politics? The conversation touches on Pastor Josh Howerton, the Great Awakening, and what history tells us about faith and the founding.

In Digging Deep, we go through the key Senate polling in Maine, Texas, Michigan, Ohio, Kansas, Alaska, and Minnesota. We ask what happens if the polls are off the way they’ve been in past cycles, and why we think everyone should be careful about trusting them. We also look ahead to what a Democratic Congress would and wouldn’t change, including the veto, the courts, and the military, and why we say don’t give up on America either way.

Our Bright Spot is a group of 22 state attorneys general, led by Missouri’s Catherine Hanaway, backing a plan to count only U.S. citizens in the 2030 census. We talk through their argument about representation, incentives, and the rule of law.

We close with a Moment of Whoa. We react to Abdul El-Sayed’s comments on children and online content, and we share the story of Carl Bushby, who walked 31,000 miles around the world and finally returned to his hometown of Hull, England, 28 years after he left.
