New data from Royal LePage’s 2024 Canadian Renters Report finds that one third (31%) of Ontario renters plan to purchase a property in the next two years. Of those planning to purchase, 43% believe they will be able to afford to buy a property in their current city of residence. Of those not planning to purchase a property in the next two years, 61% say it is because they do not believe their income will allow them to afford the property they desire.
