Summer is traditionally the season to splurge, on travel, bucket-list experiences and entertainment with family and friends. BDO says this is cause for concern considering the current economic climate. Polls prove consumer debt is on the rise, and delinquencies are soaring. Household budgets are tight as Canadians, including many in Ontario, struggle to make ends meet.
The debt solution firm is cautioning consumers to be aware of what they can afford to spend this summer, to set a spending limit and avoid taking on additional debt that may leave them paying for their fun in the sun, long after the season ends.
