On a special episode of ALL THE SMOKE, Jamal Crawford chops it up with Matt and Stak. The boys discuss Crawford's retirement, the lob city Clippers missing out on the finals, and the current NBA playoffs run. Plus, he discusses the state of the league, the lack of vets in the NBA, and his favorite current players.
Welcome to All the Smoke, a production of The Black Effect and our Heart Radio and partnership with Showtime. M mm hmmm, mm hmm. Welcome back to another edition of All the Smoke. Jack's good tough of day yesterday for us, long day, but I enjoyed the Cally Weather. We have to just kick back smoke. He good brothership, brotherhood. Yeah, sleep, it wasn't actually a bad day. I enjoyed it. I did. I was so tired already. Yeah, but today we're back at it. We just got done doing hot boxing. Y'all didn't know we're neighbors. We didn't know. Weird neighbors. Shout out to the champ Oh kids. Mm hmm. You just tell us, tell us some pop stories. I've always want to ask you that ship. I should have said this for All the Smoke. Listen. I'm locked up. It's around ninety three, it's maybe ninety four, and I got out pretty soon and Tupac winning. He comes in this place in the end. This is all white supremacy. This is your you've been locked up in. As soon as he comes in, everybody starts supplauding, clapping up in the plu hey stops down, stop stop stop. You know the guard to saying that ship and he was who he was a fourth. If he loves you, it's all love. But if he didn't like you, he looked for be Sometimes he wants you to know he was there. His music is timeless, but they got like a timeless piece of art here everywhere I go out of like an Africa, Europe. How was Tupac? What was Tupac? Right? Everywhere all over the world. It was a powerful painting. This is what he wanted. He just wanted to be Iron Mike. We don't get Mike do some ship with Mike. But we've got a special guest here. Oh my gosh, I was working Mr Fingers. Popcornall never watched this dude. Just go back and watch YouTube to him putting his fingers on people on the way from Shock to me, Nate Robinson, the way they'll they'll squeal when his strong fingers touched him. I'm an equal opportunity employer. He's a he just does this ship. It's crazy anyway. Man, Welcome to the show, six man extraordinary Jamal Crawford appreciated family. How are you doing. You're officially welcome because before we did his hand already, I'm good. A few times we did your remote last time, last time we did you Uh you had an officially called retirement. Since then you have, um how did you come to that decision? It got to a point honestly where you know, you go through emotions where like you wake up some days like damn, how am I not getting a call? The other day's like man, I knew I could kill out there. The other day's like man, I'm tired of waiting. And it got to that point that roller coaster ride where I finally found when I said to myself, I was like, how can I play for a team from home? And that's when I know I'm like, okay, it's tom when you when you try to play for a team with all actually having to travel, would actually go like it's time and seeing my son and coaching him, and you know, I see you on the circuit all the time. I was like, it's it's time, and to do it on my birthday. And it was a little innuendo because at the time adds number eleven if you go back and look, and then it was like out the blue with a whole lyric. I'm like, people are gonna be sleep right now, look get tomorrow, you know. I mean I felt like that was perfect for how my career went because I always felt like I was under the radar, you know what I'm saying. So the way to announce it was like me thoughts about it, like are you are you? I know you've moved on and we're gonna get to the stuff you're doing, but just the bad Like I feel like you're gonna be the motherfucker that's gonna be in the program and once you I don't know if you'll you'll always be good up for the program, but you know, the local leagues or whatever, like how do you feel that? Like basket well still very much and and you're gonna continue to play, it's just not at the highest level no more. Yeah, that part is you still have moments you're like damn, like especially watching like dang, like you're not in the NBA. I was in a half my life literally like many years literally half my life I was in the NBA. So that part of it is is tough at times, but overall at peace, like I really am, I love doing and stuff. I love coaching my son more than anything. So I got more time for those things. Yea, yeah, And and that was my biggest worry, Like, Okay, you love the game so much, you know, how's the transition gonna be, But it's been unbelieved. That's when I figure at peace with it when you can still be around it, but not like okay, with with with being in you know, Jack still plays. You know, he goes through spells where he'll stop for a little bit, but he's back in action now. Like I just don't have that. You don't. I don't have the drive at all, like it never do. I go to like I can't wait to wake up and go play hoop to my Like hell no, I just don't because I'm too busy. But that everybody is different, you know what I mean. But still it's just make it look easy too. By the way, it's inspired to watch both of you guys in this space and then especially the stuff you're doing ESPN, Kings, Show Time obviously Smokes just being everywhere it's dopey. I appreciate that. Is, you know, to put our faces on it as many quality platforms as possible and then capitalize on something at the end of the day, Bill come on, man, Yeah, then retired, What does your normal day to day look like? Well, even like especially the last two years, I was always pick up and drop off duty. Like I'm an uber. I'm always taking my kids everywhere. But I enjoy it. I love it, like and they love it. They love it, right, they look forward to it. And we have our little routines every single day when I take them to school, I come back home work out. Like you said, I'm never you're still looking pretty chiseled. Yeah, I'm always gonna do that. It's just in me. Come on, it's just in me, though, Like I just love it. I always be in shape, I'll always be sharp. I'll always be getting ready even if there's not no game prepare for if that makes sense, just life, just life in general. Like you know, if I show it a young never to you never know. Yeah, so I'm doing that, jumping on, you know, podcasts, whatever I'm doing. But it's really relaxed, like it's it's weird because you can decompress, which you're absolutely about your family. My schedules, their schedule, whatever their schedule is, revolves around that. You talk about possibly um running the team, you still got cross over Seattle, talk about that Yeah, the program is just unbelievable because I mean you've heard from my Zai, You've heard from different people who participate in it. You participated. It's something for the whole city that keeps him like going. It gives us hope because they don't have phonics, right, we don't have the sonics, We don't have none of that. Did you feel that when you played in it? Did you feel so? I mean, like I said, I think we talked about last time, but Bro, you sold the gym out not so but five thousand people at twelve at night, Yeah, at midnight for your your pre wedding festival. Like that. They love basketball. That's we need to get Showtime Basketball out there. Showtime Basketball. So man, go out there. Stories. Yeah, we gotta get you, Jamaldinarra like beat's right on set. We're gonna make right here, like we're gonna be He's gonna like yeah in the flood. This would be a good time to welcome to you actually to the Showtime Basketball family. Yeah, well yeah, good going out, bro, But welcome. I mean, obviously you spoke a media let's you know, speak about you know how that came about, and and you know how how you know this, this fan base will be seen an moore here. I think as far as like just in the media space with COVID and everything. I did a lot of podcasts and stuff from home, so I jump on the podcast no matter how big or small it was. I was available for everybody. I was like and I just found myself enjoying talking the game because when you're talking to you're teaching it right, people are This is what people don't know. I mean the kind of out But what people don't know is this what he did before every game and lay up listen to me the same way you talk about games and talk about different players in the basketball today he did this and layup line in my ear every game. This is what we're gonna do. This is what we should do. I'm taking them here. This is what I'm gonna do to them. You do you smell a popcorn jack ass popping? Yeah, this is all the stuff looking back, like, that's what it was like. I was kind of destined for the space to be honest with you. Like, even I do interviews, I flip it not knowing I'm flipping it, just asking them questions because I was interested in knowing. So yeah, the space. I'm loving it. Um showtime has been unbelievable. You guys had such an authentic feel, and I think that's what's different from everywhere else. The people that you have. You don't have to change your something little. We're hat where you don't you know whatever it is? You know what I mean like and I think come as you are, and I think you're always your best selfiear that go into back to basketball twenty years and handful of teams. What team to you in your mind? Give me your top three team. Do you feel like you played for the Clippers, our team number city we gave away a chance of the championship? Yeah? I don't think we have you too. Have you talked about this? We haven't. Haven't. Well, let's talk about this ship real quick, so we have any done and grow first. That's when we mean you both coming that up. First year we came together together, right, Yeah, slid, solid, fun and ship deep deep. I don't know if you remember this. There was a sports illustraight for kids that came and shot us. Oh yeah, for the bench, Bob. They said this is one of the best benches in history. It was me and you l O Willie Green, Graham Hill, Ryan Hollins only show y'all, Eric Bless, So we forgot it's a young blad when they're calling him baby Lebron. Yes, So we would finish games so all the time for them. I remember C being mad one not in a way like a jealousy or not, and he was like, man, our bench is so good. We haven't played fourth quarters in a minute. It was crazy. Practice used to be dope like we were. We were at that motherfucker's bro. Yeah, and just that opportunity when you look back at that and you look like, damn, there's no way in those years we're there, we shouldn't have made one finals. I'm not saying we should have won it, because you take a little look in Jackie your champion, you know you're champion two, but like, there's no way we shouldn't reach the final. Yeah, we were the best team in the league maybe for one of you know, a year season season and two yeah, talent wise, talent wise, and then you have the twenty fifteen years when we beat the defending champions Spurs and then we get up three one against Houston, and if you assimilated that and replayed it a hundred times on the video game. I think ninety nine times. You're work in our favorite That was the one time it would the Western Conference Final against the Warriors and who had just beat and if he forgot, So that's that we were before they went on their Donna's run. We were the last team to beat him in a seven game series during the Sterling Ship. So I just feel like that was the best team. Oh. By the way, they're making a show Ramono Shop on shot Ramono Shop and they're doing a show on her ESPN podcast about the Sterling First its fishburn is playing um Doc's supposed to be done. He was playing you. I don't know when I got traded to the Clippers. Yeah, I was hurt though. Anyway, I need to be a consultant on that if we really want to make Sterling affairs and the Live City vibe was real you I got a song for the soundtrack to That's why I talked the league talking about go ahead. I'm sorry, back to what you were saying. Yeah, so that would be the best team are you talking about? Just like team as far as like chance to win a championship, just fun both because we had a lot of fun there too. Yeah, in New York. I can't. I can't ever dismissed New York. It feels like you're on stage every time and you were, you put on, you put on the show, and then I go play at the record right afterwards. So it was like I was really bridging the street to the world's most famous screen. Off days, I'm playing in the park when I'm like, it's hard, one of the go to guys on the next I'm playing the park afterwards. Can you imagine that it's hard? So they really it was a different type of when they had from Yeah, it is different. I mean that they were, but they were all fucking with you know, you had your little situation when home and everything. Now so when you're because obviously we're a little older, but now that you're done and you're coaching J J and you'r we see each other pretty much every other weekend at these tournaments. Obviously the kids recognize you, but I don't really know if they understand like how cold cold like all the ship that they're trying to do, or see the life that that was you. If I was born twenty years later been a problem, I would have been one of the faces and I'm saying that humbly spoke, like just the way the style of players. Yeah, like you see LaMelo through it through his legs. Are you were doing that and going and dunking that bitch too? And no disrespect to nobody, But I was shooting, not watching it go in like years no real Yeah, yeah, like I'm shooting what not watching it go in then? But it wasn't time. There wasn't social media, you know, I wasn't social media. But it's dope because the players of this era show love. Yeah and say you know they that's growing up. Yeah, that's dope. I love to hear it. If they were going to make a statue of you with any one team, what would that be Clippers. I spent the most time there, so it gotta be. And the love that, like the fans had from me, I'll do. I'll take some crazy s, take some crazy shots a lot. But I missed something too. But they never got on me. They never you know what I mean, Like they were a trusted you, which was dope because it was just a special vibe with that team that was one of the first teams was like a family. I felt like the court. What do you think what do you think stopped us? I'm not sure you mentally tough? If I'm being honest, we weren't mentally tough. We were that boxer who could we could throw knockout blows if we got hit. We wentn't technical. We was like man man, it was that first of all, it was that we should did and we're fighting each other or going against each other and not going against upon it. So mentally, if we'd have had that, especially we had that that real vet like yo, this is y'all's only chance to win a championship. You know what I'm saying, Like you guys looking like, oh we're young with this With that nah, things changed fast. We need that one vet to be like, yo, this is the chance. If you want to go to championship, this is it. If not, it's over about you. What you think? I agree, mentally tough, I think egos. Guys kept getting better and you know some people are starting to get more shine. Yeah, it was a lot of l a ship, you know what I mean, commercials and ads and there's a lot of money making and I mean you could do thirty for thirty just our team for real, No bullshit and the and the way we self destructed in the playoffs every year when we had that that clear run, you're breathing heavy stuff still a little bit. It's allergies. What's stood out to you this year in the playoffs? Player who the lack of shot creation stood out to me is in the season, they're like, oh, this dude from three, but in the playoffs he came and get his on shot. So shot creation to me shows that it's still like at a premium even if you don't rely on that over the course of the season. He knows the plays, you know what it is in the playoffs, you know the opponents plays better, just show your own. So what's going to separate that? Right? And so having that shot creation, I think it's still needed, especially for guys who are like, go get it, guys, you know what I mean. And some of those guys are on the league right now. Your opinion on the state of the league two questions. Your opinion on the state of the league, and give me the top three favorite playoffs right now. My opinion state league is it needs to get a little bit older, like you need to have Vegan. I didn't learn to be a pro and to high pros. Right, Like everybody was like, man, Boston, they gotta trade Tatum mc brown. I'm like, no, they don't. They respecting and imagine having a mar de Rosen that they respect. Like, yo, you need to do it like this. You can, you know, be part of the team and still get your shoe, but you gotta bring these dudes along. Somebody respect the Paul George type. Yeah, not saying these guys specifically, but those type guys where those guys can look up to that and follow that blueprint and have achieved the things they want to achieve. I think that's but it's missing all around the league. Look what Isaiah Thomas did for Charlotte, right, even though he didn't play as much as I'm sure he wouldn't, he could have his his presence as the locker was a president as the locker room. He was like I mean, and I think that's where there's a disconnect with management sometimes for sure. And then the second part of that, My three favorite players to watch Jaws must see TV. He's something, right, unbelievable. I'm just gonna do young players because who's playing. I'm like, I gotta watch them. LaMelo I love watch LaMelo. I think those two in particularly bring a spice to the game, like it doesn't it doesn't look like the rest of the game. It's like I'll drive a hand off. We know this action is coming. It's like what they're gonna do next. But then also to just the antics, so with just who they are. You know, you see John them dancing in the camera like that's new to the game. You know, you see LaMelo doing whatever he did, like all what they're doing and I of it. Even John Mark and Steph the other day, come on, man, like I love it. I love that energy. So those two and I think you know, Luca is just he's playing like he got headphones on. Yeah, peace, you can't bother me. I'm Luka Magic. He's playing like he got headphones on. So those three I would say, like they keep you on the edge your seat because you don't know what they're gonna do. And being a creative. That's what I like to see. If you saw a franchise one player, who would it be? Honest, I just mean you can't go wrong with that. He's he's the right Like at the point of his career, he's still dominant he's he's not considered. Oh like he's he's driven to continue to be better. He has a certain humility about him, even though it's he's such a force. That makes sense, and that humility is the reason why he'll always get better, while he'll always improve, why he'll always expect more of himself and his team. So you're, honestly, what's should take on the international takeover? Right now? We're trying to be four tough in America. We need one where we at r Yes, it's dope from the standpoint it's the global game. Like when we were coming out, I was like, man, you better working in your game because somebody in Iowa right now, who's working on the game, somebody in Chicago. It's somebody in Texas and Cali working on the game. Now It's like, no, that's somebody in China working on this game. So you better be ready. And so that part of it's Dope's dope. It's a global game because when we played it, we knew that it was like it was the best sport and we felt like that. But on the other side, it shows that for us, we we got some work to do, Like we really they're they're catching up someone I forgot who it wasn't forget. I'm I'm bad. I can't give you your credit. But someone said, when you're fourteen and fifteen overseas, you're playing against pros. When you're your fifteen in America, you're you're in seventh grade. And I took that as we're holding kids back a year or two to play with these elementary school kids or you know, real and when they're that age overseas, is playing his grown as man Matt. The thing was crazy, is that's this age though now they have kids. But I played again grown. We always played up. We always want to play, always want I never wanted to. I was in eighth grade walking across street to Del Campoll High School, playing against the seventeen eighteen year old kids. But I was really I was the age I was thirteen or fourteen, you know, I mean, now I'm seeing fifteen year old thirty. I mean you're seeing your in a you now you see fifteen year old eighth grades like bro. I was a sophomore in high school when I was fifteen. It was and for us at that age, it was embarrassing. Yeah, you didn't want to me back any of that. So it was like my first trainer was the four year old dude who was drinking a forty in between runs, like, no, you gotta cut. You had a good you gotta make this shot two hours just to play one game with him. So that was my first trainer, Like he was teaching me how to play. No, you gotta cut right there. You can't overdrible. You know, you're grown man. You gotta be physical, you gotta like So those were the first trainers, and that's what's missing because now we're trying to do it in reverse. Yeah we want the fifteen year old to go dominate twelve year and like look at me. Yeah what we're going right? Right, And so that part needs to be cleaned up for sure. But I mean that takes to me like why I coached the kids, you know, and they're in the grade they're supposed to be. We're not going to hold back. We're just gonna keep getting better because you went to where everybody dreams, So you understand the big thing. They think they're the secret sauce. I mean, at the end of the day, I tell my kids because again, like we're the a's now they're seventh grade but I see kids with facial hair and I'm just like like reels like and I'm just like bro okay. And what the parents don't understand is it hurts that kid in the long run because when you're eighteen and you're being handed to you right now and you go through that versity like what damn, I've always been the man. I've always been bigger, stronger, fast, older or whatever. Now my parents can't hold me. But you know, it's too late almost for them to have that adversity at that age when you've had so I'll be telling our boys like, like, so when you are all freshman in high school, you want to play varsity right where you're gonna play against seventeen eight guys? If you're eleven and twelve now playing against thirteen or fourteen year olds, to say, there and your your your class. You gotta plan and it takes away that shock value when they see him for the first time somebody's two or three years older, you know what I mean. Seattle. I love Seattle Campfish Corner. You know that's my family. Yeah, talk about you have any bigger plans with Seattle cross over. Absolutely, We're already on video games We did actually do a body armor rest in Peace code before you passed away there. So we're always trying to look at how to grow the league. We're gonna look into Showtime Basketball stocks possibly coming down here and just seeing with the feel of it and just kind of bringing our story to life, you know what I mean. I think it's people know a little bit about it and you know something some elements of it, but to bring it to life, but to really how many dudes have come a little place like you can cross the whole term in fifteen minutes. I went to one high school with John Murray, Christ, Kevin Porter, Nate Robinson in the middle of Jason Terry, Peyton, Siva, Aaron Brooks. On the other side, it's Brandon Roy, Jayleen no Weel and this is in the fifteen Will Connor when it's a fifteen minute span. So it's it's crazy to see. Um, I think per Capital we're up there, and it's it's more coming anything. When the last time you had I tried to go. I tried to go, uh three weeks ago, but they were sold out of Catfish on the team bus right now, we'll go put it up. Though it was on the team, but anything you heard about the Sonics in any new news. So I heard about the hockey team coming probably two or three years ago, and in Seattle since they left in two thousand and eight, since that was the last year, we'd be like, oh, five years Sonics coming back. Now, it's really I believe it's gonna happen through expansion, but we need the hockey team first, and they're here. The cracking is here, it's doing well. Vegas and Seattle want the two coming on board. I could see that and then maybe move Memphis to the east or something right like, I could see that. I'm just throwing out there speaking to exist nothing. Yeah, what are you about? Polo ban Caro um coached him in Yes, he had a problem. He's a problem. What's what's your take on? Love him? I love his family because the family he comes from, like he's him, his brother's sister are going to be successful whatever they do because they have a solid background, They have solid footing. But he's a worker. Jim Ratt loves to get better, humble when you talk to him. He's still young in the sense of he wants to he doesn't have all the answers he's thinking on the top he listen. Okay, yeah, I'm by that, and that part is dope about him. Whoever's getting him is gonna get a franchise Cornerstone, you know, thinking numb. One pick depends on who's picking. But yeah, I absolutely see him. I remember Spencer Hoges shut out Spencer Has he used to tell me about. I'm like, grade like, there's this kid, come me football too, man. Yeah, I know he didn't tell me that. You know, I've been calling I've been falling a little bron want to stay championship first year. I've been folloing lot brush since a minute. And Spencer Hawes is the one he's like, he's he's a pro. Watch watch you saw another young one in the game, Murray, you know what I mean. And you knew he was cold. He had like forty something in that game against me, cooking look like oh I look like old. Yeah, And I was awful and already I was on a couple of shots and some joints, and I was like, we're really gonna play back. I thought he was kind of working with us until I saw how many people and there's like, oh, we're really about to play basketball? You playing well at Georgia's own and everything left me. I picked him up as soon. And you don't know that. One thing that I remember vividly that I've been saying you did. He didn't know one thing. One thing I remember why you were still playing was because I haven't see you at the tournaments. I tell you, like, how fun it is coaching the kids. You got to coach yourself, and you didn't really weren't really you finally did that? Tell us what that experience is like, you know, to do that with your just honestly, we have practice tomorrow. There's honestly, we got practiced night. Do you how many times you practically just once? If that we do three? Yeah, you guys are militant over there. Man, sessions still quarters, We're still We're going to number one. See us. We want we want to Jersey's reversible. Talk to you. It's the best thing ever, right, It's nothing like I would rather do that to anything, like if you were like, let's go hoop, I can go hoop and still be pretty good, but I would rather do that and the kids to see where they go from points nothing. And I see you on the side, and I actually took something from You're always so calm. I'm like, damn, how's he that calm in a high intense game. I'm watching it. I'm like, because you may have parents, I'm mad, you know, they want to get into it just because you're you. So I'm going through that part of it. But there's nothing better in the world. And that's my favorite thing to do. Absolutely got ternament this weekend. So do we we're getting we're Corona shout out, Uh, you see you trying you right now. I hear them. I'm catching it. But I was gonna say, was you know we're doing something basketball dads, you know, shout out. I got Tommy's here behind the shout Tommy, Tommy Gunns. We do. We're gonna bring this directly right to showtime basketball. But there's so many of us. It's it's me you, I mean j R. Ryder, Will Will um Man. You see, you see dads all the time out there. Paul Pierce has been out there. It's it's they're all over the place. And it's dope because you know that Number one, you're showing the dad's in a different life. Number two, you're getting like you know, the kids are getting good information, you know, I mean like you know they're getting tossed, right. You see a lot of in this you spacing Jack, You've got kids, name you space. I mean some of these my fucking coaches have no idea. All you want to do is scream. And I'm like, you're not You're not too to nobody, and that's I'm like, you'll be able to play for anybody. You're no terminology, right, you'll be able to play for anybody. We're giving a professional stuff at nine, ten, eleven, twelve, So by the time it comes come on, Manute the home process scout reports, Well, man, it was good to catch up with you. Always, always good to see you. You're part of the family now, so we're gonna see you more. What's up? I'm chilling bro, all right before we get out of here, we got some quick kids for your family. Do it favorite road crowd to silence Showtime. He's on with show Time, but his nickname is show Time, and you can break that. You can break that story. How I got prime Time? You show Time? Because I don't think tell him? You tell him? You tell Okay, Well, popcorn, it's always popping before the game. We're not always with seven thirties. Definitely, yeah, definitely seven thirties. Got to be friend right before the opening doors with the ring, butter earlier. You're doing Salt season. I got you too, game pop garing, popping Jack showtime. So I started calling him showtime. So he started calling me prime time. And tell him if you still called me prime time, we'll tell him why you called me show Because when time the turn the lights come out on the pop won't get the popping in the showtime he puts on the show on the show, I called him prime time because obviously Deon Sanders prime shout of Deon is the best of the best. Could do anything any time. If Stack could get twenty, but he could lock you up and let everybody know about it. So he was like prime time to me. I'm like, my offense, my defense that I ain't play, No d like that your defense right now is admirable. I can't guard Kobe, but you're doing a good job of it. So that's why I started calling It's a good story, favorite, wrote Crowd of Silence. I would say, you talk, I would say, because they're right there on top of you. They was just yeah, I would say whatever we feel you. Yeah, I'll say you talk. It's a high percentage of the league. There's gonna say utalk. So on the top five crossover kings of all time. M give me you U plus four. I take myself off myself. You want to be the sixth man of that list? Yeah, I'll be six man. Kyrie original is there? That's what I grew up watching Renor number eleven white chocolate m man? Would you say that? Iverson? Can't forget check each That's four. I'm gonna go with I'm gonna throw my move, my got moved. Yeah, I love him solid and Nick the quick that could share us three and then beat and Steve Steve Francis. Yeah, some great talent. Yeah, biggest ship talking. You have a face GP campaign in KG. I mean KG had like a real beef. I'm like k G KG, I'm just a rookie. We're not really supposed to be beefing you. But it's no own and off switch with him. It's all on all the time. But those two and he didn't know at the time that he was one of my favorite players ever. I love K but um get those two favorite shoes you ever hooped in outside the brand blacks some nineteen A three high top shell tops. Summer we all came out. I was wearing shell tops everywhere, and I was playing them to my boy David Hudson shower d Hoodie threw him in the busher, so I couldn't wear him no more. Not the shoes you have with the clippers telling that story, it probably worse than they. So they brought a shoe deal that to actually both of us, and uh Jamal went with it. But I have bad toes, so I like, I tried it. I wanted to do it. The money they offered was cool. I was gonna do it, but I couldn't. I couldn't do it. Fam took the deal, got his little deal, had some merch with it, got some bread Ford everywhere. These motherfucker shoes got so tight that like you know, like when you're a little kid, you see the kids that will tie the shop and the make both sidesm and instill. The strings are like slow. You have to like eight like triple on them. That's what the ship used to do. And it was just touching family shoes all right. She was breathing. There was like no middle space at all, like the size would touch. It was a fun run. Tell us, I just didn't want you to know. I know why you got it. Wasn't shoot display. Yeah no, they came to me with a deal and I was like, man, I adn't dreamed about have my own right, So I'm like, you know what, I gotta i gotta take this deal, regardless of how they feel, how my felt after. But yeah, I mean it was dope from I saw the vision and I grew up loving and he won Rebox. So at the time, Rebox kind of off brand. It wasn't Nike or a Deid and know what I'm saying. So I'm like that kind of I'm like, ad I'll do it right. So that was that, And I want to change my actually stouts because anybody scored fifty doctors a bad boy or something. I'm best teammate you ever have besides me, besides you and s beside you, and I know I'm definitely up at the top of that list. Bro. I'm gonna say when I don't really say off the Malik Ross because he was such a pro good Mali. He was such a pro and we were struggling with New York. But he came from such a winning pedigree. I used to always pick his brain about this spur want the championship with Milik, Yeah, absolutely, my guy was favorite jersey jersey war Raider Beach number three. That's the only jersey I got on my own. And it's not I'm like, but that's that's my favorite jersey for sure, because that was the most I ever had playing in high school, my whole life. Top three defenders you ever faced besides you too, Tony Allen Kauai because he's just super solid, like Longcolma beat himself. He's you know. And then and then when you put it down, they let him slap all this ship. It doesn't even matter. There's no foul. And then, um, I'm gonna say Bruce Bone. Yeah. Top three toughest matchups that I had to get to guard. You know, damn d But I'm gonna say Kobe Iver sent d way them three was motherfucker like you ever been on. I'm actually question, have you ever been on that end of one of his crossover ball moves like make somebody fall and he can't get to you? Yes? We yeah, he did that a lot. I got to see your first hand. He crossed Real and the Maiden Fall and kicking to me for the three in Boston, it was just you was talking ship and ad to get your bit ass. I was with him with the with the one and he laid like Jesus he did. He was the floor was with the one where he made West Matthews just give up in Portland. Yeah, he crossed him down and then brought it back and then it just stands up. You know me. I came and yeah he was. He was in Seattle when y'all was playing West. But like a boxer, I felt like he was going to run up and he's a hard playing dude. And when he stumbled then I felt I said, he's coming up. And when I did it, and he would like this some bullshit? That what's going on here? How many? Yeah? This is the bullshit? Huh for sure? What your mom? Man? It's good to catch up again. Welcome to death Row. Welcome.
