Introduction

Story

end credits

This week, we are featuring another audio corpse (collection of stories) from our audio corpse challenge.

An audio corpse is like an audio tapestry made with many hands. The line of the stitch in the stories is a reminder that we are all connected.

How does it work?

Our Programming and Community Coordinator, Catarina Fraga Matos,  breaks it down:

Here’s how the audio corpse works. Storytellers received a prompt to create a short audio story up to three minutes long. But here’s the catch. The prompt they receive, it’s only the last 10 seconds of the story that came before. So they take that tiny fragment and use it as an inspiration for an entirely new piece that has to be made in 48 hours, and that continues the story in some way.

audio corpse #2

This audio corpse features an exploration of ancestral memory, whales finding a new way to communicate, the illusion of sanity, a strange explanation about stretch marks, a cooking lesson and the day in the life of an alien.

Participants of  this audio corpse were:

M.Cristina Marras,  Lynn Casper, Tessa Cancio Pastor, Rowan Allen, Anna-Maria Woodrow

Sarah Frosh, Jennifer Robnet, Lucy Jollif and Sarah Warren.

Special thanks to Catarina Fraga Matos for organising this and to Nili Javid for stitching all the corpses together.

Thank you to Izzi Boustead for this episode's cover art!

All The Best is for new Australian storytelling. Hear from a Melbourne-based cannibal, how the Australian Wallabies used theatre workshops to improve their game, anxiety attacks in a Tantric sex class, and what the shopping centre Santa Claus is really thinking, all on All The Best.

We're a weekly radio show and podcast produced at FBi Radio in Sydney in association with SYN and Triple R in Melbourne, and broadcast nationally via the Community Radio Network. We’ve been telling stories in a variety of forms since 2011, picking a theme each week and using short form documentary, personal narrative, interviews, and spoken word to bring you the best from across Australia.
