The Hawke Cup is one of New Zealand’s oldest cricket trophies, dating back to 1910, contested by district (minor) associations rather than the major first-class teams.

Author Alec Astle expanded on the history of the Cup, alongside fellow author Murray Brown in the book The Challegers.

He joined the All Sport Breakfast to expand further.

Kaituna Golf Club is a nine hole course just under 50km south of Christchurch, located on the Kaitorete Spit. 

It’s open all year round, and with a new irrigation system currently in progress, is in the best shape it has been for many years. 

Lesley Murdoch caught up with Club President Peter Miller for a chat.

Matatu have gotten off to a red-hot start in Super Rugby Aupiki – going three for three. 

This weekend they’re travelling north to face off against the Chiefs Manawa. 

Matatu lock Laura Bayfield joined Lesley Murdoch for a chat about her team’s great start to the competition, and what they can expect from their opponents who are yet to win a game this season.
