Episode 130: My Friend Jake Webb (Methyl Ethel)

View descriptionShare
For many Australian music fans, Methyl Ethel didn't just arrive - they materialised, seemingly out of nowhere. With their sleeper hit "Ubu," the Perth natives took to national stages to increasing acclaim that has now spread to their third studio album, . Long before he was bemoaning anyone's hairstyle choices, however, Jake Webb was a curious and introverted kid trying to figure out his place in the world of music. He spent years honing his craft and playing as a sideman before anyone had so much as even heard the name Methy Ethel - and, on the day came out, he went into detail (well, mostly) about his fascinating story so far. Along the way, we touch on meeting your heroes, adapting a live show and how everyone in Perth knows one another (it's science, don't argue).TriageTriage
