This episode of Swellness was recorded live at the recent Power Up held at the state of the art B3 Wellness Facility in Brunswick Heads. Today’s guest is Kathryn Nelson, aka the Plastic Free Mermaid.

Through over a decade of research practice in the field, she has become an expert on plastics and how they are literally killing us and our children. 

Kathryn studied microplastics alongside a researcher at Jean-Michel Cousteau's Ocean Futures Society in Santa Barbara, California. She traveled to the Great Pacific Garbage Gyre to collect rubbish and study the impact of microplastics on marine life and plankton. She is author of the book "I Quit Plastics," as well as an avid surfer, diver, sailor, and loving mother.
