In 2019 six counties in Illinois had access to a 24 hour mental health help line. The program has expanded to all 102 counties now and includes the ability to text for help too. Recently with more funding individuals who call or text can have access to six tele-health appointments with a mental health professional at no cost. Karen Stallman with the SIU School of Medicine and Center for Rural Health along with Illinois Department of Ag Director Jerry Costello talk about the program, its expansion and the need for mental health services.

If you need help the phone number to call is 1-833-FARM-SOS and the National Suicide Prevention Hotline is 1-800-273-8255
