Hungry Jack's have had one for a while and now McDonald's is on the bandwagon with vegetarian or plant-based burgers.

Vegan food reviewer for World Vegan Guides, Erin Kebby, told Jo McManus, in for Steve Mills on Millsy at Midday, the new burger had just been trialed on the east coast and was set for launch in the west soon.

"It's pretty good, if you have McDonald's, I honestly can't tell the difference between it and a meat burger," she said.

"Obviously vegans have different levels of how they want to eat, but I think any step in the right direction is pretty good, you can't have it all at once."
