Farmers looking for new income streams have turned to 'agritourism'

View descriptionShare

Farmers seeking new income streams have been welcoming visitors to their farms, creating a new form of tourism known as 'agritourism'.

Agritourism has been successful in Southeast Queensland, particularly in the Scenic Rim and Lockyer Valley, which are close to major population centers like Ipswich, Brisbane, and the Gold Coast.

One such entrepreneur is Kay Tommerup from Tommerups Dairy Farm, who joined Dean Miller on 4BC Afternoons to discuss the new phenomenon.
