After falling behind on her account, Josline did the responsible thing by arranging a repayment plan and paying consistently every month. But instead of seeing her debt decrease without issue, she was contacted by three different debt collection agencies in the space of just nine months each demanding payment on the same account. Why does this happen, and what rights do consumers have when their debt is repeatedly handed over?
