Belief Matters: Do modern storytelling platforms preserve ancestral knowledge and cultural memory or are we losing something sacred in the process?

View descriptionShare

Relebogile Mabotja speaks to Dr Rabiah Ryklief the Chief of Staff at NEWF (Nature Environment and Wildlife Filmmakers)  unpacking whether modern storytelling tools are helping protect heritage and indigenous wisdom, or whether something sacred risks being diluted when traditions are translated into contemporary digital spaces. The discussion is inspired by the new partnership between NEWF and E·CO (Encounter of Collectives), which will support 12 interdisciplinary collectives from Africa and Ibero-America through grants, mentorship and a residency programme in Sodwana Bay, South Africa.
