Hazel has had the opportunity to manage brands, sponsorship properties and business solutions at different stages of their evolutionary cycles across different market segments. She has worked on established brands, such as Citibank, Discovery and MTN and has developed marketing strategies, brand strategies, communications strategies and sponsorship strategies for multiple African markets and acquired new sponsorship properties in response to brand challenges.
During her career, she has had senior input in localising an international brand, achieving a very successful global-to-local introduction.
In her current role as Senior Manager of Group Sponsorships for Africa’s’ largest bank, Standard Bank Group, she manages a multi-million dollar budget and has positioned the group sponsorship portfolio across business units and geographies, ensuring that sponsorships are utilized as a brand engagement platform not only to drive awareness, stature and emotional connections, but also as a platform for the attainment of key business unit objectives and measurable returns.
