DISABLED WOMEN IN THE WORK PLACE

View descriptionShare
Disabled Women around South Africa still face challenges when it comes to getting employed. Employers are obliged by government to have a fair amount of representation of disabled people, but yet again it seems companies seem to prefer taking male candidates.
President Jacob Zuma revealed in September 2011 that a Disability Act is being crafted to deal with enforcement, non-compliance and implementation of the UN Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities. The convention covers areas such as accessibility, rehabilitation, participation in political life, equality and non-discrimination of the disabled.
