South Africa, Tunisia, Nigeria, Kenya, Senegal and Egypt are the countries chosen to assist Africa with the production and distribution of the Covid-19 vaccines in Africa.

This announcement was made at a ceremony hosted by the World Health Organisation alongside the European Council, South Africa and France.

The announcement came weeks after Africa’s criticism of vaccine inequality following the Covid-19 pandemic.
