A Dutch cruise ship with a hantavirus outbreak on board is set to sail to the Canary Islands, where two crew members, including the vessel's reportedly British doctor, require urgent medical care and are expected to be evacuated by air ambulance.

A third individual, linked to a German national who has died, is also due for evacuation. According to the latest World Health Organisation (WHO) update, seven hantavirus cases have been identified among people on board, two confirmed and five suspected.

The confirmed cases include a Dutch woman who died and a 69-year-old UK national who was evacuated to South Africa for treatment.
