Head of the Peacebuilding Interventions Programme at the Institute for Justice and Reconciliation Professor Tim Murithi says the United Nation's (UN) Chater should be re-written to better address current issues and to be in line with the ever changing times.
One of the principles of the charter is "To achieve international co-operation in solving international problems of an economic, social, cultural, or humanitarian character, and in promoting and encouraging respect for human rights and for fundamental freedoms for all without distinction to race, sex, language, or religion".
