Traders at Ghana market count losses following devastating fire 

Ghana is now allowing visa-free entry to all countries in the African continent. The West African country used to allow visa-free access to twenty-six countries in the continent. The move is seen as an opportunity to increase travel and tourism to the country and contribute to intra-Africa travel.

Ghana now allowing visa-free entry to all African countries 

Mozambique's opposition leader Venancio Mondlane last week announced that demonstrations against the outcome of the October 8 presidential election will be called off to allow humanitarians and international bodies a chance to assess the state of human rights in the country.

Announcing a Facebook broadcast, Mondlane said he was announcing a reprieve to facilitate the entry of regional actors into Mozambique and that a group of former heads of state in southern Africa were interested in mediating an end to the impasse. Reports suggest that over 170 hundred people were killed and dozens injured.

Uganda will now become the fourth country from the African continent to be a part of BRICS, a bloc of emerging economies in the global south, including the world's second-largest economy, China.

BRICS is seeking to expand its reach and influence in global politics and trade and to reduce the global dominance of the US Dollar as a reserve currency and in terms of Dollar-denominated debt. T

he bloc has started lending to member states in their local currencies which is seen as a plus to reducing high levels of indebtedness which tend to be exacerbated by the exchange rate. On January 1st, Uganda became an official member of this bloc, along with eight other countries that have now joined.
