The Electoral Commission of South Africa is on a drive to get  political parties to commit to free, fair and peaceful elections in the provinces ahead of the May 29th elections.

The Electoral Commission was in the Northern Cape and held a code of conduct pledge signing ceremony where parties that will be contesting the elections in the province  pledged to abide by the code of conduct.

Today the Free State Province is doing the same. To discuss this further Jabulani Tshabalala, the Provincial Electoral Office and head of elections in the Free state Province joined Lulu Gaboo....

The South African Human Sciences Research Council , the University of the Free State  and the Social Housing Regulatory Authority have launched new social housing portal. The portal is the outcome of the ongoing social housing stakeholders' partnership and commitment to pooling resources,labour, expertise, data and finances  to address South Africa's housing and spatial segregation challenges, while fostering inclusive economic growth and transformation.For the first time in history, anyone interested can access the latest data and information about social housing in South Africa through the new portal.To discuss this further is Prof Andreas Schaba, Senior Research Specialist at the Human Sciences Research Council (HSRC)...

South Africas Deputy President Paul Mashatile says its crucial to recognize  the vital role of the work force in the economy.This as the world commemorates International Workers day. He was speaking a dialogue hosted by the African United Business Confederation (AUBC) role of leadership in economic growth in Bryanston, north of Johannesburg .He says by investing in quality education and training,  leaders can empower their citizens to contribute meaningfully to economic development. South Africa(SA) calls on for a 'big catch-up' to improve immunization coverage. The critical importance of vaccinations in protecting the health and well-being of children and communities, alongside work needed to scale-up coverage, has been recognized during an Africa Vaccination Week event held in Hebron, in the North West province.  The theme, "The Big Catch Up: Vaccinated Populations, Healthy Populations", underscored the role of routine immunization in saving lives and improving health outcomes over the past three decades in South Africa and following fifty years of the global Expanded Programme on Immunization (EPI).  For more on this, Thami Ngubeni spoke to Chief of Communication & Partnerships  at the United Nations Childrens Fund South Africa, Toby Fricker...
